Dragon mercenaries in future DLC

Post » Sat Mar 30, 2013 4:51 am

just like tiber septim did, hire some dragons to fight your enermy.

It would be something like give them a very high amount of septim (10000?) and they give you the word power to summon them. And if there is no enermy near by they will land and you are able to speak to them or command them to carry some item for you.

do you think it would be a good feature?

You can already summon two dragons without paying a penny besides they don't want paying in gold they want to be paid in maidens.

more dragons wont hurt, since in late game they dont really do much damage anyway, also is there to enhance immersion (by the time of dragonborn dlc we are very powerful, if mirrak can have 4 dragons why cant we :P we taken his place anyway)

another things with mercenaries is that they usually have unique personality and sometimes quite witty, odahviing and that undead dragon seems acting like housecarls and too much into service mode rather than express their personality.

With mercenaries dragons we might get some interesting exploration into dragon's personality

So you're saying that these dragon mercenaries are only going to reveal their names after I pay them? Couldn't I just force them to serve me?

Surely you all haven't forgotten about Nahfahlaar of Redguard?
He worked as a mercenary for Tiber Septim, and was paid in gold and gemstones.
Dragons in lore [even outside TES] are pretty attracted to treasures and shiny valuables, even if they have use for it other than to hoard it then leave it in their room looking pretty.

Nahfahlaar's dungeon in the game had piles and piles of gold and gems.

Way I see it, if we get to see Nahfahlaar again in a Redguard DLC [he isn't dead], if Beth plays it smart, we could side with the dragon and pay him a sum of gold to assist us in whatever's happening at the moment. Just like Tiber Septim.

Erm... Yes they would.

That's their purpose. How much Skyrim have you played...?

just like tiber septim did, hire some dragons to fight your enermy.

It would be something like give them a very high amount of septim (10000?) and they give you the word power to summon them. And if there is no enermy near by they will land and you are able to speak to them or command them to carry some item for you.

do you think it would be a good feature?

Instead of paying a large amount of gold why not have it that you must defeat the dragon(s) in combat, I only say this because the dragons in game don't really guard any large treasures. But your idea could work as well. But bare in mind that once you get so far into the game you gain the ability to call at least one dragon, 2 if you play your cards right with DG.

What exactly is a dragon going to spend money on?

They wouldn't spend it, if you go by lore dragons are greedy and love treasure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smaug. :tops:

Are they ever gonna realize that makes them prime targets of experienced and hardy treasure hunters?

This made me laugh out-loud for some reason..

Exactly.

Gol Hah Dov

it doesnt last forever, even mirrak cant fully control a dragon forever.

Also an interesting idea *borrowed from divinity* is that we can craft specific armor for mercenary dragon to enhance their abilities, that would be cool
