Dragon Riding in future DLC?

Post » Sun Jul 03, 2011 2:10 am

What if... What if the game (or a mod :chaos:) included a separate world space of mountain tops & clouds, where an areal dragon fight (of some kind) could take place at fatal speeds ~if you hit the mountain you'd be dead anyway, and if you fell off, you'd not survive hitting the ground.
Landing could be on a perch or deck of some kind; or if you descend far enough, the dragon auto lands and you dismount.

I would not mind something like this in Skyrim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsEA2OgC0RE
(Real time, with full control would be nice ~but... I'd be fine with a more structured flight if needs be.)

In theory it would be possible. They already managed to render the entire world in real-time for the mapsystem, it remains to be seen if that "layer" or "cell" can be edited, scaled, populated and moved in with a player hooked onto a dragon-shaped "actor".

Give him a break guys, he obviously hasn't been around long enough to figure out that most people on the forums (including me) hate the idea of dragon mounts. Anyways, just dropped by to give him a http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg Bye!

Logically, Dragon Mounts would not work within the game. Large cities are enclosed within walls, so if you rode a dragon, you could glitch yourself into an empty town. Not only would it be annoying, it mine as well not be added if that's the case.

Of course... we all know that if dragon riding is in, then one of the first mods will be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adBmLtE4wwg.

Towns could logically refuse admittance to a dragon-mounted PC.

A guard could come running up to the PC when they land and demand they stable the beast outside.

Riding dragons would be awesome. But if they do that and still ignore levitation...... Why bother?

Why can't you people be satisfied with dragon six?

Why do you have to make her give you a ride afterwards?

There is going to be a mod for... Wait what?
Anyway meant to say there will be a mod for dragon mounts, no need for DLC

Posting to say I hate this idea, more for the tackiness and cliche aspects than any gameplay considerations.

Being able to mount one would considerably detract from their stature as the primary antagonists of the game, so, no. The bunny has spoken.

I love the assumption based in the sub-topic. "Lets let Bethesda know that WE WANT TO RIDE DRAGONS!" Yet only 21/183 (who voted) actually wanted them. I don't want dragon riding, it seems pointless in my opinion.

I have to say, the number of NO responses without any form of real justification or reasoning amuses me to no end. I have to wonder, is that how people really feel, or are they being controlled by the typical mob mentality inherent in places like private forums. :celebration:

Riding Dragons would be a lot of fun in a game like AD&D, not TES. This game is not like that. It just does not suit the world, as many have said.

Besides, it takes a BIG man to "mount" a dragon and some people are just not "up" to it.
