Dragon Riding "not in the traditional sense"

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:08 pm

maybe there will be a point where your character hops onto the back of a dragon as they are fighting?

The one they feared....Dovahkiin....Dragon porm!

No seriously, listen to it again.

Now everything makes sense! Dragon*ejem*born (or porm), dragon riding, shouting... Can't you see it?

In the recent IGN article, Todd responded to the question about whether we could ride dragons saying "not the way you're asking". Ok, so no Dragon mounts, fine by me.

But, does that mean occasionally part of killing a dragon will involve latching on to their backs and stabbing them to death in an epic sky to earth plunge as they desperately try to shake us off the bloody ruins of their back? Then we land using their massive bodies to break the fall as they crash spectacularly into the ground with our sword/polearm pierced through their spinal tap?
Please be this.

Or maybe you can get a dragon shout that turns you into a dragon. I mean which would be cooler? Riding a dragon or being able to become one? I know it is probably not what they did but I can dream can't I. Turning into a dragon, flying where I want, using dragon attacks, and so on. Man that would be fun. Alright I'm back to reality, and wishing I wasn't.

If you read it again, I think you find it's IGN interviewer who's into bestiality.

Glad I wasn't the only one who recognized the innuendo in Todd's comment.

All of you pervs who want to 'mount' a dragon or 'ride' it will have to mod it in.

You get to ride a mule, called Dragon.

That would be the most epic thing since... Like... The beginning of time? Maybe earlier.

Two ideas. First one is probably right, second is a cool idea I had.

1) We can 'ride' them in combat, as in, by jumping on them to kill them, or possibly being picked up by them and dropped (ouch!).

2) As part of the main quest at some point we get to 'be' a dragon, like see through the eyes of one for a short time. Cool or what? :P

I'm highly surprised by the number of people confused by this. Todd has a sense of humor you know.

The last set of questions were merely sarcastic as they are being worked on/can't be commented on. We know their still deciding if riding horses/dragons/both should be in along with being able to combine spells.

The one in question was purely sarcastic sixual innuendo.

Note the word "ride."

The kids on here might want to run to mommy and daddy.

Dragons aren't animals. If it has the intelligence of a human, it's in the territory of interspecies relations but that's something that really shouldn't be a big deal in my opinion. :whistling:

I have to admit the joke went over my head though. :blush2: Only after reading this topic did it occur to me at all that Todd was being funny.

Game Dev's are known to be dangerously insane.
They’re probably rolling oranges down the 7000 steps as we speak.
Who knows what is going through their beautifully twisted minds?

What ever “Untraditional dragon riding” is, it’s sure to be fun.

Read last page. Just sixual innuendo. Can't blame some people who missed it.

The 3-5 13 year olds most likely reading this forum as a guest or member should beat it though.

But enough about that.

Back to six.

Most importantly beastiality. (Also in that other topic that's the same as this.)

It's not sixual innuendo people. He's referring to his Khajit character's recent skooma binge. Furry Todd the Magnificent was "riding the dragon" all last weekend.

Eww.

It could mean anything. Perhaps at some point in the story a dragon carries you somewhere, or perhaps you can actually turn into one. Perhaps like the example it happens while fighting too.

I laughed so hard, Thank you.

I bet my left butt cheek that the "riding dragon" part is meant to be some awesome finisher move with a sword/dagger

It means you get to engage in intimate physical activities with a dragon. "Riding" a dragon, if you will.

Obviously.

I think it says something that I thought of that too...

But really, I think we can safely assume Bethesda would NOT include that in the game, because I don't really think the audience Bethesda is trying to appeal to is the one that would want to see that. But that doesn't mean they can't joke about it, and the answer was likely not serious.

Or it's like some are saying and some sort of finishing move for dragons, but the joke answer sounds pretty likely.

Or possibly, there's a "finishing move" or two where you leap up on the dragon and "ride" it's corpse down to the ground.

Beowulf style.
