It has been confirmed that you won't be able to ride Dragons, but yes it would be cool.

Confirmed you can't... I don't know if it would be cool to ride a dragon as they are the main enemies...

No, because they are the enemy. Not only are they the enemy, but they are supposed to be intelligent individuals, which would not be reduced to mere riding devices.

I think it would be cool if players was given one friendly dragon to call upon for a mount. I thought someone had mentioned that there will be a few friendly dragons. For those saying that having a dragon for a mount isn't cool: the akatosh mount mod in Oblivion was one of the most popular mods; this certainly shows that more people would prefer having a mount as cool as a dragon.

I would not like a friendly dragon as a mount but i WOULD like a dynamic quest (most likely a main quest), were we hi-jack a dragon and we have to fight another huge dragon whilst on back, now the one you are on does not want you to be obviously so he will twist and turn and stuff in order to get you off, and when you defeat the other dragon he flames at the dragon we are on and burns through one of his wings, and as the dragon we are riding falls fast and hard we notice he is about to fly straight into a nearby city/town, so we have to hack, cast spells, shout and whatever at his wings so they will totally be destroyed and we will fall straight into the cold sea below and as he does he harvest his soul mid-air before jumping off him and watchin ourselves finally fall into the water and as we swim back to the surface through bubbles and waves, we look up and see the dragon corpse fall straight near us as it hits the water with a great force and we sit as it drowns slowly into the depths below... this wouldnt be the final quest because it isnt epic enough xD... but i want dynamic quests like this...

It'd only be cool if I could mount my dragonlance to the saddle and engage in aerial combat.

This has been discussed already.

And everyone here doesn't seem to like very much.

By the way the whole "it wouldn't make sense because they are our enemy" argument falls through since its been confirmed
that you can summon a dragon to your aid.

Not everyone here feels this way about having a dragon mount for Skyrim. If you're just including people here, your results are also bias. The popularity of the Akatosh mount mod, along with what GameInformer stated in their magazine issue with information about Skyrim, shows that it's possible that the majority of the TES community would love to have a dragon mount or a flying mount.

Normally I would say no but I literally just got done watching How to Train Your Dragon for the first time so I'm probably not in a good position to say...

more than likely somebody will make a dragon riding mod. If they include mounts as part of the base game it will be easy to make a dragon riding mod.

Gotta love the music for that movie. Dreamworks came to my school to give a presentation on it before it was released in the theaters. It was cool.

I could care less about a dragon mount to just ride around on. If there is a dragon mount, I'd want a fully realized aerial combat system to go with it.

No it would be rather stupid IMO. I am sorry but i really can't see anything cool about riding dragons. When i first heard about the Dragons i wasn't very happy about it because i thought dragons was too clishé even for me. Rideable dragons is part of the reason i think that way. The Dragons should be unique and interesting and not some kind of childish fantasy dream. Luckily it seems Bethesda actually want to do the Dragons justice instead of speaking to the lowest common dominator.

I dont see why people are against dragon riding. Surely its optional and THEY DONT HAVE TO RIDE THEM IF THEY DONT WANT TO

A TES MMO would be optional too. I don't have to play it. Just because something is optional dosn't mean that you can't have an opinion about it.

I noticed you joined more than two years ago...
You've been around long enough to spot quite a few threads on the subject plus the countless smirky replies Todd has provided on the matter...

Yes i would be cool. But it's not at the top of my list, currently and resolutely headed by climbing mechanics. I'd take that over riding Dragons. Any day.

I think the ability of flight, especially if you're on the back of a dragon, would be sick. Think of all the sweeping views of the landscape and the ability to just jump off of one in midflight.

Actually, it has been confirmed that we will also meet friendly dragons.
