Dragon's seem to overly fear (or ignore) this Dovahkiin

I have the strategy guide, but not with me... I keep having a problem of not being able to shoot the random dragons with the bow, and they keep NOT landing. If there's no other prey (than myself) around, they'll fly around in circles, I'll cast spells at them, SHOUT at them, but I keep missing with the bow, they won't hover for me, and then they fly away.

I want their SOULS! but I can't have them... I don't know what to do to make them realize I'm there and worth trying to kill. I'm level 20 and I kill them quickly once their on the ground. Anyone have any ideas of how to get the dragon's attention? I'm going to try to get the bow perk where time slows down and maybe that will give me a leg up on actually shooting a dragon. Is anyone else having this problem?

I've killed several dragons, so it's not always the problem, but it's been an issue on two occasions now.

One thing that really helped me get those dragons down is my companion (Aela) who is a wonder with a bow. If the dragon stays in the air I gently wait for her to kill it :celebration: .

I've noticed their vision is drastically reduced at night, so try Dragon hunting primarily during the day.

If one seems hard to get the attention of, try getting to higher elevation to make you easier to spot.

I have the same issue :(. And I'm currently using Lydia again, who can't lure them very well. Really hard to ice spike a moving target at a distance - I imagine it's easier if you've purchased talents in archery.

Also, I keep running into dragons in really inopportune spots where I have NO visibility/mobility.

Also make sure the area is clear, they dont seem to want to land around alot of obstacles.

Only sometimes Dragons should actually fly away... usually they come down to fight.

I've had a couple ignore me. It's random as to whether they attack or not. I had to load a save 3 times for different reasons, and I did the exact same thing each time. I fast traveled close to my intended location. The first time the dragon came up and over a mountain top, and attacked the fort I was near, completely ignoring me. I decided to just ignore him and carry on. Well, I died not far past there to an aggressive bear. *Reload save* Take two. This time, same deal, he ignores me, and just flies all over the place, never taking a second to even notice me. I carry on. *Game crashes* Ok, 3rd times the charm. *Reload save* This time, I pretty much get attacked as soon as I appear by the fort. He ignored all else and focused strictly on me this time.

I like that they are sometimes just part of the scenery, it's sweet. Last night I started to talk with someone on a mountain top and way off in the distance I watched this dragon devastate whatever he was devastating over their shoulder for the whole conversation. It was pretty sweet. I like that life continues when we talk now!!!! The whole world does just STOP DEAD around you.

Have you tried putting out a saucer of milk?

In truth I've had that problem and I am still figuring out the best way to overcome it but there are some good suggestions here.

Yeah, my wife and I tried, in a field, about 6 times (reload) to get the bastard to come down, It was night time, and he flew away just as the sun was rising... good to know about their vision. I hadn't considered climbing the mountain, I figured that would make me harder to spot than I was, given I was in what amounted to an empty field to the side of some city...

Thank you all! Good to know I'm not the only one the dragons ignore. :toughninja:
