Dragon Shout Ideas

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 6:33 am

I have posted this topic before a while back and received only sarcastic comments back so i decided to wait and make another hoping for better results. The idea of this post is to ask "What kind of shout do you guys think will be useful to the player and not break the game at the same time"? My personal request for a shout would be FOC-BAK-MAE which would send out a small tornado that would whack your enemies around and also throw them to the floor. at higher levels it could even bring down a dragon and lift people off the ground. I don't think this would break the game cus it gives you a needed area of effect attack and something you wouldn't need to aim to use. I can imagine useing it when i am surrounded and have no way out so i call the tornado and it whips them around and allows me to escape.
Please send back a good response. cheers!

My ideas propose some very powerful shouts, possibly having them be hidden or somehow considered "lost" in comparison to the others. They are powerful but also have some drawbacks

"Challenge" a dangerous shout when used incorrectly. It lets out a call of challenge, and attracts the attention of dragons and other rarer creatures in the area. Along with that, it also enrages the affected creatures making them more vicious, but at the same time also increases the likelihood of obtaining rarer materials or treasure from them. Cooldown of 1 hour.

"Magnitude" A boastful shout, that increases the size and power of your non physical attacks. Arrows fired grow to the size of spears, fireballs becomes firestorms, and so forth. It drains magicka and stamina very rapidly and increases the magicka and stamina cost of attacks. Cooldown of 10 minutes

"Dragon's bloodlust" a very powerful roaring warcry, that increases the speed, magic power, and attack speed of the player. It has a relatively short duration, but resets the duration each time you fell an enemy, and increases in potency with every kill up to 10 times..by the end of which your character will visibly become like a humanoid dragon including wings that allow for slow falling, but not flying. When it wears off from lack of killing enemies within the duration, there will be a shockwave of fire that removes the draconic features from your character, and causes you to fall to your knees, winded and weakened for a while. Cool down is 30 minutes.

This is a shout I made for another thread:

Mind control shout: Dein Kein Qo (english: Keep War Wrath)
Lv. 1(Dein) Forces an enemy to stand still and let you attack him
Lv. 2(Dein Kein) Forces the affected enemy to attack his teammates
Lv. 3(Dein Kein Qo) Forces the enemy to kill himself, whether it be by falling on his own blade/hitting himself in the head with his weapon(warrior) or lighting himself on fire(mage)

Berserk: This will make this player move faster and do more damage however they cannot heal, lose armor bonuses and steadily lose health. 45 min cooldown

Tremor: A shout that uses the vibrations of the shout itself to unbalnce a grounded enemy and if in a cave causes things to fall from the cieling and do damage. 1 hour cooldown

Charge: An attack that lets you charge forward unbalancing foes and doing damage. 30 min cooldown

Assuming three "levels" of the shout...

Purge - Dispell 1 effect on target. If target is a summoned creature, it receives a severe debuff

Greater Purge - Dispell all effects on target. If target is a summoned creature, it is destroyed.

Grand Purge - Dispell all effects within X feet radius of shout. Destroys any summoned creatures within radius.

I believe one reasonable shout would allow Dohvakin to have his/her skin covered in thick draconian scales as a form of extra "padding"with a nice texture added. It need not make him/her invulnerable, just simply give him/her a defensive boost and small resistance to magic.

There is a storm shout already in.I hope there will also be a meteor shout. the sky's suddenly explode turning crimson red and and giant flaming boulders impact the ground raining death showers with the force of Megaton bombs.and if this doesn't make it to the game then modders take the hint.

Well, it's not a Dragon Shout but...I would like to be able to "swallow" Dragon Shouts. The Lore mentions this.

Assuming three "levels" of the shout...

Burning Aura - Enemies receive fire damage on successful attack. The player's armor and skin has subtle ripples of fire.

Blazing Aura - Enemies receive heavier fire damage on successful attacks. The player looks as if he's on fire (not subtle)

Aura of Immolation - All enemies in a radius around caster are subject to persistent fire damage while they remain within that radius. The player's whole body is one white hot glow wreathed in flames.

Perhaps a time reversal spell like Prince of Persia.

The Brown Note, ill let you figure out what that one does.

Yes.

Lv. 3(Dein Kein Qo) Forces the enemy to kill himself, whether it be by falling on his own blade/hitting himself in the head with his weapon(warrior) or lighting himself on fire(mage)

That would be a good one.
Especially against the Adoring Fan.

Oh yes, that one as well! Overall, I want more Thu'um and less Dragon Shout in my Skyrim.

A silencing shout, 'cos I'm smart like that.

The ability to shout at my wife would be useful too.

Seriously though if they don't make some kind of suicide/kill ally spell/shout then this game is gonna svck. :teehee:
