Dragonborn -- Humans only? : V

Something that occurred to me today: Can we only play a human Dragonborn in "Skyrim"? Somehow it seems more likely than an elven or Argonian dragonborn. But then, in "Morrowind" you could play the Nerevarine as any race.

Every game, you can play any of the 10 races. Your not bound to one race as it has never been said that a dragonborn can't be any race as the gods gave you a dragon soul, doesn't matter what body hehe.

The character you play is dragonborn, no matter which of the ten races you decided to pick.

Just like being the Nerevarine in Morrowind.

Dragonborn are chosen by the gods. It's not genetical.

They bear the most resemblance to Dragons...being reptilian and all that

Just like in Morrowind, you can only play a nerevarine dunmer, or in Oblivion you could only be an Imperial Champion of Cyrodiil, so too with Skyrim, only a nord can be the dragonborn

The Dovahkiin is just like the Nerevarine. An uncertain person that have been marked in some way, and have a chance of altering the world. He/she isn't bound by identity.

It's possible that the devs wisely took the results of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1178209-play-as-a-sload/ to heart, meaning our perfect Sload overlords are rightly the only playable race available in Skyrim.

I think you guys are being a bit tough in saying answer the is so obvious, I take the original post as asking is it unrealistic (lore wise as opposed to game wise) for a non-human, or even non-nord to be the dragonborn who saves Skyrim, which lorewise, I'd say it is.
