My Dragonborn is stuck in place?

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2015 9:37 am

I am on 360. I was in Riften at the Pawned Prawn selling potions I had made. When I left the shop my dragonborn will only run in place he won't move otherwise. I have tried reloading 3 previous saves and they do the same thing. I have tried clearing my cache. Has this happened to anyone and is there anything else I can try. I am a level 72 Breton with several skills maxed out. I'm hoping I don't have to restart. If I have to I will. Thanks for any help.

It happens on occasion. The only fix is to revert to a "previous" save. Not the autosave form exiting the tavern but one prior to that.

I have 30 saves. I have tried going back and reloading several of the older saves. (They are manual saves) and they do the same thing. I have also tried clearing the cache.

hmm... That is interesting, as it is an issue within the current savefile and should not traverse into previous files.

Let me ponder a bit more and see what we can come up with.

Have you tried switching from 1st to 3rd person while jumping?

Or using Whirlwind sprint?

Are you close enough to a chair or bench to sit?

In the original save I'm standing in Riften outside the door to the Pawned Prawn. In the earlier saves I'm other places. I'll check and see if I'm able fix it via Whirlwind Sprint. I did try changing the view though.

Now, just so i understand... and we are on the same page,

You cannot move at all?

Even trying to walk, your character covers no ground and just runs in place?
Your character cannot walk?
Or you gradually end up running in place while sprinting?

Are you playing from the disc or is the game stored on your hard drive?

Install the disc to the hard drive on your 360 and play it from there, fixes a lot of bugs.

Let us know how you get on either way. There's usually a way round most issues with the 360, just a matter of finding them out.

I am at a loss... Like I said, my characters have been stuck like that but a previous save fixed it.

It just doesn't make sense why it effects prior files. Like Craig said... either way, please keep us informed on your progress as it would be very good to know for future members with similar inquires.

This may be a bit obvious, but have you tried fast travelling?

I was going to suggest that, too. Even fast traveling to Riften may break that.

I spent a while last night. I haven't had any luck as of yet. It doesn't make sense to me. I had this happen once before and I cleared my cache and restarted my system and it fixed it. However this time it isn't working. I will let you know if I make any progress in fixing this. Thanks for all of the help.

Are any of your saves near a chair or horse? If so, try sitting/mounting. These animations could reset things for you.
Do you own a horse? If so, try fast traveling somewhere outside a city and quicky hopping on while it's next to you.
If you don't own a horse, all that I can think of is to fast travel to a stable, use magic to piss off the stable master, and surrender when he gets within speaking distance. Then buy a horse and attempt the second idea.
