Dragons=Aedra?

Via some syllogistic dikeying one can make the argument:

p1: The Nord pantheon is centered on Eight Deities, the same prime-Aedra found in most every Tamrielic religious tradition.

p2: Word of Tod is that the Ancient Nords worshiped dragons.

= The Eight Aedra/Divines/Aesir? are Dragons.

The most glaring hole in this argument (that I can detect) is that troublesome word Ancient. It may be the case that those ancient Nords were just savage lunatics who worshiped dangerous beasts before being converted to Aedra worship, but that seems unlikely. The Eight are universal in all faiths, dating to the Dawn-period, due to the common ancestry of all races from the Earthbones. Thus all (current) evidence points to the Nords having venerated the Eight since time semi-memorial. And if what Todd said was true, then it's reasonable to assume that the Eight (and possibly all the lesser ancestor spirits) are in fact Dragons.

Alduin is, so perhaps they just worshiped all Dragons out of respect for Alduin?

Same as many civilizations around Earth.

The Nordic pantheon also includes non-Aedric beings, so dragons might have been part of that at some point.

Todd never said ALL ancient Nords worshiped dragons either. So maybe it was a couple of dragon cults he was referring to.

It's not like Todd said "Ancient Nords only worshiped dragons."

I think I recall a few dragon names in there, that's anything with more then five collectable syllables btw. Worked quite well in Arx Fatalis.

Another thread described it as ancestor worship, distant ancestors, but still. Probably not incorrect though the Nords would not see it as such. But that is a matter of perception. The Monomyth has the text from a few apologist to Uriel V explaining that there were anologous ways of creation.

I assume anyway. They might also be a-completely-unrelated-end-of-the-world-Dragon-worship-cult.
