Dragons after death

Well, I would like some sort of momento to gain from hunting a dragon, either a skull, tooth, or claw. It would be awesome if you could just hoard them and make something out of them.

Their souls go to dragon heaven... where they can roast all the Bosmer they please. Oh, wait. :P

I think the bodies just completely disappear... skeletons included.

:whisper: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1161098-dragons-a-thread-to-discuss-all-things-about-skyrims-dragons/

I don't think the bones will stay there or anything so you could come back and see it again later. Like any other creature you kill it eventually disappears.

Also I doubt if we'll be able to even loot dragons, so doubt we can get their skull or anything like that.

Lastly we've had discussions in my thread about whether or not Dragons will still be around after you complete the main storyline. I personally think they will but there's a lot of doubt that they will. If they are not around afterwords I know I'll probably hold off from finishing the story or make a separate save so I can still enjoy my random dragon encounters when playing Skyrim.

I definitely want dragons around after the main quest!
It would good if there was something left to mark the fact that you have conquered these amazing beasts. If not a skeleton then maybe as some have suggested you could take a tooth or claw.

Imagine fletching arrows with dragon tooth arrow heads, that would be awesome. Maybe even a dragon claw dagger or sword.

I hope we can drink dragon blood to increase health and/or become more resistant/immune to certain effects. ^_^

Yea, thats the problem really. People would want the bones to stay around, just not in/ in the imediate vicinity of cities. I would like them to stay however.

And for fishy sticks you need to post something funny, incredibly intelligent or just plain off the wall - something M'aiq would say.

No fishy sticks for you!

So then have dragon corpses stay until a guard runs into one. Then have it disappear if the player isn't near it. That way we can just say the guards dispose of any dragon bodies near cities :)

Sorry guys, complaining about fishy sticklessness will only result in the further failure of obtaining a fishy stick.

What do you think will happen to the dragon skeletons? After absorbing the soul/shout in the trailer the skeletons was left behind, in a way it would be cool if you could go back and visit the scene of your triumph, I'm sure some people would like to have a dragon skull in there house! Though if you took a dragon down near a city I probably wouldn't want the skeleton to stay. What do you think? Also will there be dragons after the Main quest?

Off topic on my own topic! lol what do i have to do to get some of these famous fishy sticks?

i think you should have the right to ride dragons because then we can enjoy the landscape plus unless you make that possible someone will just invent a mod and take credit

Not sure I want dragon riding myself! Don't see an intelligent creature with its own language, that I have been trying to kill! Saying sure hop on!

I remember reading a post a long time back, in which it was stated that Dragons were not something to be slain in the TES universe, that they were more a creature to be revered - almost as demigods. This sat well with me after seeing the end of Oblivion. I'm extremely interested in hearing what brought their sudden reappearance about, and why it's now fine to slay a dragon. Maybe it's something to do with the Septim line ending?

Either way they are definitely magical beasts, so what happens to the bones after their death is very much up in the air. Personally I think it would be nice to see the bones stay, but that does allow for the possibility of reanimation. :S

Maybe because dragons are foretelling the coming of Alduin whose only goal is to eat the world?

It's ok to kill demi-gods when they are coming to feast on your homeland.

Shoot, why not make a house out fo the dragon? I'd really like to give skeleton shelter a try (like whalebone), but that'll only happen when monkeys fly out of my butt!

A dragon corpse is a crafter's bonanza....

Hide for armor or shelter
Meat for food
Various medicinals
Bones for weapons
Bones for tools
On and on and on.....

Dragons are not quest related at all. It has been said many times that dragons are a natural part of the world, so it can naturally be assumed that they won't disappear after the main quest. By banishing the dragons, they mean banishing Alduin, the dragon god world-eater. Dragons are living animals and will not be banished.

Awesome idea for some mods... now if only I didn't play on the 360 :P
But seriously, get some modder to make these if they aren't included. I've always wanted a mod that actually let you take ANYTHING off a corpse.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about using dragon bones, hide, meat, or anything else. In the GI article it seemed to say that the dragons burn from the inside out when they die. That might have been the one dragon in the article only, but it might not be.
you dive to the side
and stab your blade up into the creature’s neck. it flails wildly,
and finally collapses. instantly, its body begins to combust,
burning itself out from the inside. your blood quickens, and a
glow of power suffuses you

And the trailer also shows something happening to the dragon body. I don't think there will be much left.

I want them to be skinnable, and i want their corpses to stay unless slain in a certain radius near a town, and i want them to rot. and turn to bones, then eventually break apart after the boneshave been there for long enough.

The dragons aren't "natural animals" they are people. They could easily have them retreat to wherever they were hiding. I'm hoping it's more complicated than all of them being one dimensional enemies, but if they are I could easily see them all leaving.
