Dragons Attacking Cities?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 4:06 am

For some reason I have never gotten to fight a dragon inside a city other then riverwood. When do the dragons come to placed like winterhold and solitude? Do you need to go farther into quests or something?

It's random. Also depends a little bit on your progress in the MQ, but you don't have to be too too far.

I have had a dragon attack Winterhold and another town cannot remember which one. The guards go nuts.

I happy watched as a dragon stomped the hell out of Morthal. That Jarl should have really seen that coming. So much for her mystical powers.

I've never had a dragon attack me in a "walled" city, but in places like Falkreath and Morthal they always attack.

Dragons don't appear in cities where you have to walk into the gates and have a loading screen. They do however appear in open cities like Riverwood or Winterhold.

I don't think it has anything to do with how far along in the MQ you are. I got the dragons to appear and thats it for the MQ, but I have had dragons attack me in Dawnstar, Falkreath and Winterhold. In Dawnstar ( I think ) the dragon landed on top of the inn, everyone in the inn ran out screaming while the dragon attacked me and some guards. After we killed it the barkeep came up and said, " that was a close call" then went back in with the patrons, it was awesome.

I got attacked by a dragon in Riften once. The only problem is that everyone is outside and close together so it took me 3 tries before I managed to kill it without losing any important npc's.

You can use fireball to clean them out if they bother you.

A blood dragon attacked me in Markarth, before I had even talked to the Greybeards. It may depend a bit on your level.

Damn thing didn't kill anybody, thank god, but it was a damned difficult fight because it wouldn't land and my orc is prohibited from offensive spells and bows.

The first attack for me was the west tower that belongs to Dragonreach (don't know if I spelled that correctly) - you know the Jarl's place lol. Four dragon attacks in Riverwood so far. Then another one at that west tower. And also 3 while I was exploring the wilderness/mountains, etc. Hearing that screeching sound from the dragon while you're just walking around kind of makes you jump.

No, but you can shoot it miles away with one.

That's what I thought. You could imagine the look on my face when I saw a dragon start utterly annihilating the people of Markarth.

Yes they do.

All the time, in fact.

I had a dragon attack me in Whiterun and its remains are still sitting right inside the gate beside my house Breezehome and it is always there everytime I fast travel back there lol so it is completely random so some people could fight a dragon in every town and some people wont see them in a town at all
