That may be the case, but the beasts turn uncannily fast for a creature of that size. The turning circle should be at least double the current value to be more realistic imo.

I think that's just the draw distance or work in progress animations. It's probably the draw distance becasue when it's closer it looks far better.

Yeah they can do quick turns, that's really unrealistic...

I really don't see the problem.

That was just an unfortunate case of ragdoll. If you've ever played Halo you've probably seen it a thousand times.

Ya. And the whole "Holy [censored] the dragon totally picked up the giant!" thing totally outweighs that.

Huzzah! I concur :foodndrink:... There is a nice "wow" factor that comes along with that... Also, I feel that awe whenever the Dragon actually throws the guard, as well...

As for the Bees, their flight has been understood since 2005.

OT : shooting the wings might force them to land just because they won't fly by choice if they can't steer. Not really fussed tbh, as long as they don't pull impossible manoeuvres on the ground.

You could be correct in relation to the WIP anims, that would be a sensible thing to do while demoing the game to speed up the action.

Fingers crossed.

[censored] magic. :teehee:

@Voyrin They never said damaging the wings would make them land, they just said damaging them in general would make them land.

while i was watching i noticed something really disgusting about how dragons fly,

Wow, well done there. Usually I'm the one to use extremely strong and colourful words to describe things in a slightly exaggerated way, but I think you outdid me here. "Disgusting"... simply wow.

Just because dragons don't use their wings to "fly" isn't an excuse to make the flying look unrealistic in terms of physics.

It's a cop out for poor animations.

If it has anything to do with magic then it'd obviously look more magicall/move differently?

For the record, yeah, they could look better. Hopefully they're still tweaking animations. But still, they're impressive enough to marginalize any flaws.

Also, to all the people saying LOL MAJIK, the presence of magic does not automatically excuse things running counter to expectation. Verisimilitude demands that things function like reality except where otherwise stated, e.g. shooting fire from your hands. For other things, simple physics shouldn't be skippede over for the sake of excusing flawed animation.

Easy now, Voyrin-san. Must learn to master rage to master exaggeration.

Just pointing it out, y'know. Didn't really try to mock you (although people in general seem to be offended by anything). I guess I was disgusted by your use of words. HEYOO!

Anyway, I just don't see the big problem in the animation right there. It seems perfectly fine to me. Just be glad that it's better than Oblivion's animations.

rofl xD, but dude really its soo noticeable how the dragon moves to the left without moving, and well... that shouldnt happen, but still that footage is almost 5 months old and bethesda will still be tweaking everythin.

This game will be the end of my social life :( i donno if i should be sad or happy... which makes me sad :'(

I have to disagree with the OP. You're worrying about the flapping animation of a flying creature while some games don't even get the motion of a walking human right. (ever saw the 3rd person walking animation of your character in oblivion? ;) )
And sure, there are dragons ingame. but i'll bet we'll be coming across alot more humans than dragons.

I wouldn't worry about this too much. It could've been a simple hiccup of the animation system :whistling:

Oh god! the dragon isn't using it's super small steering wings that aren't big or strong enough to support its own weight to fly! Someone call the press!

In short... magic.
