Dragons Humanoid form.

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 5:16 pm

did anyone else get the feeling that the person/creature in this image was a dragon?
http://elderscrolls.com/skyrim/media/conceptart/word-wall/

because that would make a'lot of sense to me.

[edit] an idea from my post just below

this is a word wall, the dragon language is supposed to consist of claw markings, and this dude has horns and claws.

yes he has feathers but so what, this is the human-like form

I figured a Greybeard, possibly a Human form Dragon(good idea).
Maybe Esbern....so many choices.

now when you say it, it does look little like a dragon, or atleast something with horns and wings. Still, kinda hard to tell, but it would be awsome :)

I didn't get that feeling at all. it seems weird to me that you would even think that.

Could be a new foe, that we have to beat to access the wall?
Thatd be nice.
I just dont want to be walking along and BAM. Word Wall. New BAMF Power.
Id like to earn it, even if slaying a minor foe.

Yeah, it could be feathers, but would you consider a tattered cloak?
But it could very well be weathers.
A new imp. I dunno. Hard to tell.

Edit: I looked at a zoomed view. And it Does look like a harpy. Very much so.

im hoping for dragon, i dont want them to just be the skyrim = of the oblivion gates.
they should be FAR more interesting. and a human form would do that nicely.
im thinking along the lines of dragon npc though, so maybe unlikely.

This ain't WoW where dragons can turn into humanoids. It's probably a Greybeard or just someone wearing dragon style clothing. Anyway I highly doubt that dragons will have a humanoid form.

Dragon people would just be silly and unimaginative. Dungeons and Dragons has had Dragon Born for a long time, and frankly, id rather TES not become that close to DnD. (Never mind that all Fantasy RPGs are in some way descendants of DnD)

I thought of the image from the Silmarillion with the woman mourning and the big pile of Skulls behind her. Don't think it's a dragon. And dragon in human forms is a bit weird for me. (I don't want to see Akatosh Alduin Fred as an NPC)

And I quote from UESP. "It has been suggested that they may be able to shapeshift in order to disguise themselves." And it is also rumored that Tosh Raka transformed himself into a dragon. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dragons

This is not WoW, you're right, but wether dragons can transform into humanoid forms or not is still very uncertain.

I also see a Harpy. Or maybe it's a banshee, or a "Witch of the Wilds".

Can we all agree on the title Harpy until we can confirm this creature's identity?

They're feathers or spirit limbs, the shape up close is inconsistant with a cloak.
It looks like wings folded behind / around the torso.
She appears to have no legs.
Is elven in shape, the helm is elven, the face appears elven, flesh tone above...

My guess is Falmer, harpy or some likely some form of Valkyrie.

Also new info from the Italian magazine article on Skyrim indicates there are special enemies who guard these Walls. Undead Dragon Priest are a sort of guardian of the "dragon shouts walls" That pop up when the player approaches a wall. They put up an hell of a fight apparently too.

Well when the player can transform to a dragon and fly, i guess the dragons can transform to a humanoid form (in skyrim).

thanks cipher, that sounds about right. like some sort of necromantic cult that worships dragons. explains the sickly posture.
but what i am wondering is from another post above
"Valkyrie"
that makes sense too, this is based on norse mythology.

and the person who suggested tes is like dnd needs to go pick up a book or two. tes is like alot of things, alot of things are based in real world myth.
