Dragons immune to console commands?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 3:04 am

So, I got a radiant quest to deal with the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest, but he's glitched. His animations are functioning, and he won't land. I decided to use the console to get rid of him, but both the kill commands and disabling don't work. I've toggled collision to get right up on him, but still nothing. Halp?

On PC?

If you are, try the markfordelete command. Activate the console, click on the dragon and type markfordelete in. Close the console and the dragon should then disappear.

No idea re XBox and PS3, sorry.

Try using a Weakness to Console Commands poison. It may work.

erh.. being serious.. I would say "use the killall" but someone has already said. ^^

Good luck!

Nothing works. I even got him to zero hp when he froze in the sky once and he keeps flying, but his health bar has disappeared. Markfordelete does nothing, killall does nothing... Halp?

Then you my friend are out of luck. Now you know what happens when you can't rely on console commands.

No, I even got him to 0 hp the old fashioned way with magic and the DAMN THING WON'T DIE.

(Fairly certain it's bugged to begin with... it's only a normal "dragon", but I'm level 41.)

What happens if you save, exit game to desktop, reload? I've seen some glitches where that can help. What happens if you reload from a save prior to accepting the quest? Have you tried redoing the entire quest chain?

Saving, exiting, and reloading doesn't fix it.

I'd reload to a prior save, but I've completed at least a half dozen quests since then, and have gained a level or two.

It's a radiant quest, so there's no other steps to redo, really.

Hm... is there a console command to make the entire cell reset? And then delete/complete the objective?

No clue.... you'd have to search for whatever's working console-wise outside of the basics.

I may just end up making a new character... meh.

Er.... it would be FAR easier and less time-consuming to just bag the levels and quests and go back to a save prior. And I personally haven't had any issues with this quest on 7 toons....

***additional failed fix attempt***
I didn't encounter my first malfunctioning dragon until after patch 1.2 (ie hovering, twitching, flying backwards etc.)
Thinking this may have been a result of the patch
I reverted back to 1.1 and an earlier save even, yet the same dragon acted in the same behavior
Figured I share this, in case anyone was planning to waste more time trying to fix in this manner
At least for me out did not have any affect

I'm having the same issue, with the same dragon twitching and flying backwards, although not associated with any quests. Other dragons seem normal so far.
My game is patched to 1.2 (even though I tried to avoid it, Steam went agains my orders and updated) so I'm hoping this gets fixed next week with the next patch.
