I did a bit of googling and looking around and I can't find an answer to this question, so I figured I would get the communities thoughts on this.

Do you guys think dragons will still be around after we finish the main quest? Of course, we don't (or at least I don't) know if the end main quest makes the dragons become extinct or not. So there isn't really any confirmation. But I wanted to know what you guys think? I really hope we can still find and kill dragons after we complete the main quest.

Obviously I can only speculate on the events of the main quest, but as it involves the player character leading a mass genocide on dragons as well as their leader, it seems unlikely that any dragons are around after the main quest. Maybe one or two hiding up in the cliffs and mountains, or maybe the friendly ones will stick around.

Todd confirmed that they will be still around, just more rare. Since you're not out with the intent to kill all dragons (at least in terms of the story that we've heard so far), just trying to stop Alduin.

You are probably thinking of the Oblivion MQ where the oblivion gates disappeared after Dagon was defeated. However, while the gates of oblivion were specifically designed by Dagon to wreak havoc in Tamriel, I am thinking that the Dragons will just be reintroduced to Skyrim by Alduin, and while they will probably be loyal to him, I believe that his destruction will not mean their own.
