Dragons with feathers!

That looks awesome.

went around googling "quetzalcoatl" since it's pretty much an aztec feathered serpent god and i thought it'd fit the bill.

I don't think these are natural dragons >_>

know what would be even more awesome? CLIFF RACERS that fight like Dragons.

In one of the preview articles they said if you haven't encountered a dragon for a while the game will make sure you do somehow. Dragons ARE the new cliff racers, I give it till the end of November before people start whining/nerd raging about it.

On topic: No feathers. I want to fight dragons, not giant chickens.

I love the idea of feathered serpents and think it would be cool as hell (like someone said above, think Quetzalcoatl), but I'm sure Bethesda is going for a more stony, rugged look.

1.they are already designed so I doubt it would change
2.it would cause an incredible lag or not look good becuase the feathers would have to be actual objects sense a dragon is so big and a texture would just make it look flat

If they look like a huge http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/dinosaur-images-050-resize.jpg, then why not? I'm always for more variation. Perhaps they shouldn't breathe fire, though. :)

It's not fighting a featherd dragon can be done, it's just I don't think I could really play http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBLoZYbVLqA to something that (when I picture a feathered dragon) comes out of "My Neighbor Totoro."

I should edit my post.. I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. I still believe this thread should have been included with the original thread but I wasn't very nice about it. Sorry about that.

Dragons don't have feathers im afraid but in our history there was speculation and evidence that suggests that our dinosaurs had feathers i remember reading on it a while back.

why start a thread about pheonix and then start a separate thread about dragons with feathers? Shouldn't you have just posted this in your original thread?

Probably because phoenixes and feathered dragons aren't at all the same thing.

I like feathered dragons.

Maybe just rims of feathers and just a mix of both scale and feathers, not a dragon enveloped with them but a mix would be nice.

It looks like the team has decided to use the big, beefy style of dragon that seems to be common in western fantasy settings. The design that I have seen is also very reptilian, and feathers would look a bit strange with that design. With that said, I would like to see different types of dragons in the game (which I think Todd mentioned in one of the interviews). If there is more than one type of dragon, I would love to see a feathered variety that is more birdlike and swift.

I only see 2 legs and arm-wings.

I'm trading my eyes in for a newer model this weekend.

Dragons can have whatever the creator wishes them to have, and there is precedent in other fiction for dragons with feathers.

I've often seen the amphithere classified as a type of dragon. It's a feathered serpent.

Feathered flying creatures - yes. Flying feathered dragons? Nah. Not all of them at least, maybe just a certain type. And even then, they should be downplayed.

I think scales would look a lot cooler then feathers, but it's possible tough because some scientists and archeologist still think dinosaurs had feathers...

These are called "Flying Velociraptor" (because at one point, they had feathers...and some could glide...)
