dreams about video games

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:14 pm

So I just realized that among many dreams I had last night one of them was that I bought and was playing fable 2. not 3, but 2. and was playing it, that was the dream for some length of time, I have never seen or played fable 2 so I doubt any thing in the dream was like the game.

usually if I ever have a dream about games its where I am in a store and I have lots of money but all the games svck, or I have no money and all the games are what I want. I never have dreams about playing them, except minecraft. but thats because I have been playing way too much of it.

I was wondering what other kind of dreams people have about video games, wierd or not.

I usually dream about them, but I'm always in them, and my friends fill the villains cast.

Had a dream I was Geralt.. a derp version that had [censored] weapons and a phaseblade with a missing battery cover and battery... with a key to a door painted on a brickwall which went to somwhere around Mount McKinley Alaska. Ended when I interrupted a ritual and got torn apart by she spiders.

My dreams usually come from when I get really involved in an RPG and have a hard time putting it down. I'v had a few about Dragon Age, and I'm usually in the game. I wake up and i'm slightly confused about it lol.

Same here. Of those I can remember afterwards it's mainly just the environment that features more than the plot, though the characters sometimes make an appearance too; the only one I can currently remember offhand involved wandering around some subterranean Ayleid ruin, presumably trying to find an exit. It wasn't especially pleasant.

I have dreams that take place in game worlds or maps all the time.

Usually it's games i'm very familiar with, but quite recently I had a really vivid dream in an FPS game i'd completely made up. The detail on the map I was playing on was amazing.

like I said. I rarely dream about games but I play them alot. I don't remember having any of those kind of dreams right after a cram session.

I think the most of the game dreams I have are ones that I made up just then in that dream. I totally had one that was tes like rpg but the maps were huge and there was space flight to different planets. it was insane.

They always have to do with hot female characters in video games. Nothing bad. Here some examples.
1. Driving to White Forest with Alyx.
2. Defending the Citadel from a Enclave assault with Sarah Lyons.

The only one not like that was like an American Metro 2033.

I was so excited for Oblivion that I had dreams that I bought and played it months before it came out. Waking up was absolutely terrible.

Strange thing was that my dreams were pretty accurate.

I know! I hate having a really awesome dream because I wake up and I'm all like, "um, wow, that was better than anything I was gonna do today..."

Sadly, most of my dreams are more about my social life, but I've always wanted to dream about an unreleased video game like TES.

I've had a few video game dreams

the ones that are really weird are the ones that involve games I may have played when I was younger and harbor nostalgia for. The dream will hype that nostalgia up to the 11th degree and in my dream I'll develop this unreal romanticism for the game. When I wake up I'll have a HUGE nostalgia craving and want to play that game from my dream to experience the awesome memories I supposedly had from my dream.

A good example of this was when I dreamt I was playing Mario Kart 64 and the memories of that brought such a rush of nostalgia and wishing i was a kid again. When I woke up I fired up the N64 played Mario Kart 64 for about five minutes and wish the version from my dream actually existed :(

The only time I dreamed about a video game was when I dreamt of being a dragon and flying above Skyrim.

If I spend a lot of time playing and thinking about a game, it'll sometimes show up in my dreams. I'll have dreams about my various exploits in EVE after a day of playing it a lot, for instance.

I have dreams like that all the time. not about games but just about regular stuff where I do normal stuff in my dream (like finish a project, etc) and I don't realize several days later that; hey, that never happened. it for some reason that makes me get super mad.

About a week ago I had a dream a friend of mine and some kin mates from LOTRO(Lord of the Rings Online) were in the attic of my house, and the roof was blown off. Around us, skeletons were running around and one eventually ran up into our base. I was scared at first but then I clicked on it(lol) and noticed its level was only 17 and it stood no chance, so we killed it. But once we killed it, it turned back into a normal person  after that, we tried to question some people on the side of the road, but when they wouldn't stay, I ordered my friend to shoot them in the head with a bow, and he did so as they ran away. I clicked on them afterwards and looted thier body, traditional MMO style.

Weirdest dream ever :cold:

Even my 'normal' dreams have gaming elements in them, like health bars, change of maps/levels.

Well, there was that time I dreamed in ASCII after playing just a little too much Dwarf Fortress.

Dreaming about a game isn't as bad as having it intrude into your waking life though. Once, actually some time ago, I was about to enter an exam.

I thought to myself, "This is important, I'd better quicksave. Where's my keyboard? I'm not at a computer. This is real life."

I don't see anything wrong with that.

Awesome computer, awesome game.

I dream about the worlds of video games pretty often, like a slideshow of locations running through my head all night, but I don't remember ever putting myself in a game character's role or dreaming about playing a game.

I've never had a dream of myself playing a video game, but rather of me IN a video game, as the protagonist. Just a few nights ago I was Gordon Freeman playing what I thought Half Life 2: Episode 3 should be like.

Just to clarify, I wasn't actually Gordon Freeman, with the goatee and glasses and all, I was myself, just in the role of Gordon.

Yes...I have re-occurring treasure hunting dreams that usually deal with the location of my old place of employment...a creepy old factory. But there have been times I was thrust into a merged combining location type scenario that was very game-like, in a weird area of the factory and I have distinctly remembered on one occasion in my dream saying to myself...."I never been here before...it must be a mod".

Not kidding.

HA! I do that all the time, not quick save but actually more from having a DVR. i will want to rewind something I see in real life like I usually rewind something on tv, but then I cant.

I haven't had one of those moments in a long time because I live in a different place and dont have a dvr.
