Dreams of a Fillm

Completely hypothetical of course, but if some kind of film were to be produced, live-action or all CG, what premise would you pick? There's so much material to work with, what event in the history of Tamriel would you most like to see come to life?

For me, the answer's pretty easy: Battle at Red Mountain.

I think a Dragon Break would be cool.
Also the Akiviri invasion of Tamriel.

I think the battle that took place in Valenwood between the Khajiit and Bosmer would be pretty cool to see.

I dont want to see a TES movie. The story of TES IV was laaaaame. It stank. And most movies that come from games arnt that good.

Story of TES IV:
Emporer Dies, imenant doom looms.
You find emporers son.
Necklace gets stolen.
Son goes into hiding.
You go get necklace back.
You and Emporers Son save world.

Realy the story for Oblivion svcked, badly. One major thing i liked about Oblivion was I didnt have to do the story, at all, ever. the bad plot line wasnt forced on me every corner I turn, so I could go and do what ever i want.

He's talking about the whole TES universe, not just the small, minute story of TES4. If you could capture one event in the history of Nirn. What would it be?

The story of Cyrus, duh. Who wouldn't want to see the biggest BA this side of Tamriel?

The story of Cyrus, duh.

This. Preferably including the Sword-Meeting.

However, I am generally disinclined to experience a movie set in the ES universe. A book is one thing; a full-feature film is quite another.

I think that I would only watch a film based on the Elder Scrolls series if it was all CG like Beowulf.

The history of Yokuda would be very interesting, or one of The early nords.

A biography on Jurgan the Calm.

St. Nevar's life (especially his death)

Would you feel better if it was produced in-house, released direct to dvd, and generally avoided the hollywood beaurocracy?

There was literally no reason to flame Oblivion there, Oblivion hasn't even been mentioned in this thread.

On topic, I would hate to see a TES movie.

I'd rather see a miniseries or some kind of ongoing big budget series. There's too much material in the TESverse to cram into two hours.

Actually, yes, that would make me feel better about it. With ZeniMax providing the budget, it could bypass all the hollywood "equation for a perfect movie" rigmarole and potentially be all right.

Movie, well the way i see it, it has to be about something that can really describe TES, that keeps with the main ideals that TES has worked on since it's beginning like keeping it role-player-safe. It also has to somehow show a bit of every race, not just the few you can select tp play with, i'm talking the akaviri races, the sloads, the dwemer, the maomer, all the breeds of khajiit and argonian.

Because of this i think that the story should take place around the time of the creation of Numidium, plus like someone said before, dont have one movie, make it a couple of movies, like star wars or something. That way more detail can be put into each story and each movie will be generally better.

However the movies should not go beyond the Daggerfall story, i suppose Arena's ok as long as the story doesn't revolve around the whole Jagar Tharn plot, but it should not go beyond Daggerfall, simple as that.

I'd prefer the type of movie that doesn't exist. It's either going to be terrible (and not to mention terribly embarrassing to watch--have you ever seen Advent Children?), like every other game movie, and the two famous actors in it will fail to save it, or it will have a decent storyline, but just have 5 terrible voice actors doing the same voices for everyone.

The only video game movie that I've ever liked is Super Mario Bros., and that is probably still mostly because of nostalgia-factor. And the fact that Mario is a dirty old man, with a hoker for a girlfriend.

What about doing, rather than a game-as-movie, if it were doing one of the in-game book series as a movie?

Something like "A Dance in Fire", for example, is long enough to work into a screenplay, is long-established, and also just plain funny in the TES way. It'd work better than, say, doing "Oblivion in Hammerfell" ever would. Why? Because there's limited characterization to hold the actors back from developing the role around them. It doesn't negate anything a player might do. It's not even necessarily real in the game world, although it's part of the game lore. Sort of.

I dont really want to see a TES movie at all. But if they really have to, i think i would prefer live action. As for the plot, i am not sure but they should probably pick something from the past and not something which take place after Oblivion.

Maybe based on one of the books. I'd love them (anyone) to make a movie of The Hammers of Ulrich. That'd be awsome.

I'll chime in here for this one...

Movie starts out with an adventurer named Kane, you're sent to Cyrodiil from Skyrim in search for your great great grandfathers everlasting mage (arch-mage) brother who he thought he had died in some tragic battle to keep hold of the Arcane University against a horde of creatures from the plane of Oblivion which saved your families legacy from doom. But as time passed the mysterious arch-mage slowly crept into the shadows with each year and eventually rumors started spreading about an amazing event that took place in the mountains on top of a forgotten spire (Wizard DLC content) with a great flash of light that everyone could see but dared to venture forth to find out what it was.

So now middle of the movie Kane is already paired up with a partner or something kicking ass and chewin bubblegum by raiding goblin caves and vampire lairs then the Oblivion outbreak ensues and you go around kickin some more ass in the plane of Oblivion. End of the story you find your long lost uncle as a Daedra-Lord or something similar (insert [censored] evil guy) and it's your job to either go with him and kill your partner and have a new ending or have the basic hero ending and kill your uncle.

Now obviously before people start posting about lore and whatnot, I'm just chiming in here about what I think would be a cool movie about TES thats somewhat familiar with everyone.

This. Although it is an incredibly ambitious wish

Anyway as for what I'd wanna see

- What happened to the Dwemer
- Akivir invasion
- The battle from the book 'Mixed Unit Tactics' or something in Oblivion
- Something bridging the gap between TES:IV - The Infernal City - TES:V (if there will end up being one after the books)

lots of naked/half-naked ladies, a gang of Conan look-alikes, lots of sword fights and some close up shots of decapitated bodies.

I'd have to say that the Battle of Red Mountain would likely be the best event in TES history to make into a film, if any. I wanna see Nerevar's sixy hairdo.
