Dreams of the Fire

Post » Mon Nov 28, 2011 3:03 am

exactly!

or for the purposes of this thread... who is the enemy? who was the dark figure charon saw in the dark on the corner that vanished? What will be Faire central role with the main plot? What is Veronica's purpose in Skyrim? What are the motives of Stahlsong and Quirinus? Will Maximilian return to meddle with the events of this story?

I'm not saying we discuss it to death so that there are no surprises but that we can discuss it to come to a central understanding of "this is the plot". I think it will make the story go much smoother and maybe open up new possibilities for it.

It's just I want a part in creating the plot, because I have some ideas concerning Belan (who has been lackluster so far) and for the return of Quirinus and Maximillian at some point.

which is completely understandable since they are of your creation, only you would know what lies ahead for them.

That's strange. I thought I'd given him the thing back, but it seems it's in my back pocket. Wait a minute, we changed clothes. How did it move?
Faire removed the item from her back pocket and looked at it, perplexed. The last time she'd saw it, it had been a pentagon with a triangle inside. It was the same shape, but this time...one of the ruby eyes had gone out. It had changed to a sapphire.
This is what he gave me. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but the metal it's made from looks kind of blue. And the eyes...I swear they were both red before. As for the message, I don't think he gave it to me. All I remember is that he said "Beautiful isn't it?" and when I drew my weapon he said "This rose has thorns". I don't think there's some sort of hidden message in there...
In a moment, Faire's eyes glued shut and the strange item grew hot in her hands.
I heard a strange voice in my head. I didn't recognize it as anyone I knew, but it said...
You will be the fire that sets the world ablaze and has to spread the ashes. You will be the winter that will chill the land, leaving everything ungrown lost to the cold fire. Man in the mists, man in the fog, the creature in the dark. You must rebirth the world, but must first watch it burn.
Faire opened her eyes again to see Charon looking at her curiously.
Something wrong, Faire?
*I told them about my vision*.

Unlike Belan, I have not heard that before. Let me see that charm...

Faire handed the charm to Amiel.

Well, there appears to be nothing spec-

Amiel suddenly went rigid, his eyes glued shut. The charm began to steam in his hand, steadily growing warmer and warmer.

Amiel found himself in a large, circular room. Across from his stood a man. The man was wearing the most beautiful armor conceived, and stood as an emperor would stand.

I am General Talos. Kneel before your God!

Amiel fell to one knee.

Good. I managed to seize control of this charm from the other one so as to save your life. You, the last of my personal knights, are the one most feared by the enemies you now face, and they tried to use the charm to kill you. But this cannot happen. I have come to warn you that your friends are being manipulated by the visions they have all seen. Only you have not seen the dreams because Stahlsong altered the threads of fate in order to change the future. You were destined to die in your bed from your curse, then the world would end as the group failed to accomplish their tasks. But now that you have joined the group, the future has changed. Our enemies scramble to divine the new future, but their attempts are in vain. You are a wildcard, an unpredictable pawn. But there is something else I must tell you. Someone in your group will betray you. Intentionally or not, you will be betrayed.

I will send you back now, but you cannot tell anyone of this exchange. Say that you had the same vision as everyone else. I you try to tell anyone, your mouth will become numb and your words will be unintelligible.

Amiel opened his eyes. In his hand was a pool of liquid. He tipped it onto the ground, the molten metal sizzling and melting into the ground as it landed.

Never mind.

Faire reached around and pulled the charm out of her back pocket.

Well that was weird.

Stahlsong said to head north, right? Well I say we go north to Shor's stone, restock and rest, then head further North to Windhelm. We could get our stuff here, but the guards probably won't want us to continue existing after tonight. Sound good?

Charon pulled out a piece of parchmant and unfolded it, revealing it to be a map.

Shor's Stone is about a half day away, we can supply there and then continue north to Windhelm as you said Faire. It is the only two places to the north of here I would also suspect Veronica to be at.

Sounds like a plan Charon. *I looked down at my 'normal' clothing, finding it to be dirty and slightly ripped from the sewer* I could use some new clothes, that's for sure.
Maybe you could...*I smiled sweetly*...purchase some more for me Charon? Pretty please!

Or, since we no longer need to be incognito we can change back to our armour, which would offer better protection.

I have some contacts in the Windhelm Refugee camp. If Veronica is there, I will know where to find her.

*I pout* You're no fun, Charon. Wait a minute, I don't wear armour! Thought you could get away with being a cheapskate that easily did you?

I ignore Belan

Really? I thought your clothes were cloth padded or at least had leather hidden in it.... I guess that wont do at all then, we face many dangers ahead. You need armour, simple bracers or boots would be better than nothing. I'll help you out this time kid, but you owe me.

Belan glared at Charon for a long time, his eyes piercing his innermost being with anger.

We must head north! Just as Ameil said!

If we to understand what Stalhsong said, we must find this Veronica, and the only way to find her to talk to my contacts in Windhelm.

Thank you Charon! *I go to hug him, but pause* Um, never mind. Let's go.

I'm not flirting! I'm just asking for some clothes that don't smell like...I don't want to know what. Is that so much to ask? *I narrow my eyes*
And anyway, Charon also knows what he's doing. He's an assassin, they always know what they're doing.

Couldn't we just ask the beggars? I heard a travelling merchant that came through my town once say that the beggars see everything.

Exactly, my contacts in Windhelm. In our exile, many of my kin have been forced to beg for a living. A dreadful dishonor I hope to return tenfold to the Argonians one day.

I think you put to much stock into what an assassin is kid. We are not all knowing or invincible, we just take information and try to process it like any other man or woman and we die by a sword just as easily.

Well, if that were true, wouldn't you be dead a long time ago?
Anyway, let's go. Best not to keep our new travelling companion waiting.
