drinking Sunset Sarsaparilla makes you thirsty

drinking Sunset Sarsaparilla makes you +5 thirsty in HC mode instead of making you -5 thirsty like it should? I can see how drinking booze would dehydrate you, but soda pop too?

Soft drink does dehydrate.. even in real life... the caffeine in it acts as a mild diuretic

I know lots of people that never, ever drink water, only soda. It should not refresh as much as water, but it shouldn't dehydrate you.

Even the Wiki wasn't sure if it was a bug. I think it should hydrate you 5 points as that isn't much as water does.
I am curious if the Devs will say if it was on purpose or a bug.

It's not a bug, pop dehydrates you so I assume they've put that fact into the game as well.

I used to be in the British Army and the amount of US troops we used to see in Iraq walking around drinking coke then collapsing with severe dehydration was unbelievable! They used to complain when they came to our bases that all we had to drink was bottled water in the cookhouse.

Well regardless your wrong, Contrary to popular belief among mothers, soda does not dehydrate you, its a myth that exists on a faulty assumption. Saying something is a diuretic, thus it dehydrates you is false. Whats important is how powerful and how much of it you got. The diuretic effects of caffeine are minor about equivalent to that water. Soft drinks are 90% or more water, the FDA has a legal limit on soft drinks of 0.02% caffeine[energy drinks carry a different classification and thus escape that limit].

Actually studies done in the past decade have failed to give evidence that drinking soda can dehydrate you, and yet somehow the myth lives on with out any scientific backing. Water is certainly more hydrating then soda and a better choice as it lacks all the other stuff put into it.

But hey its a science fiction video game.
