Drivable Vehicles Confirmed?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 6:39 am

[This thread is about the existence of vehicles, and thoughts on gametypes, not the demo]

Well, a thew interesting things are in the service record on the demo, that a lot of people seem to be unaware of...
This is what I gathered.

There's a list of the medals, one of which being "Road Rage".
I'm pretty sure that implies running someone over, which would mean vehicles.
We've already seen gunner-seat footage, and the driver seat is only 2 seats away. Very plausible.

The gametypes are;
Team Instant Action/Team Deathmatch, as seen in demo.
Crash Site/King of the Hill, as seen in demo.
Assault - The attacking team must download files onto the defending teams (????).
Capture the Relay - A Crysis-themed variant of Capture the Flag.
Instant action/Deathmatch/Free for All.
Extraction - (????)

There are also 3 other Killstreaks:
Radar Jammer - Jams enemy radar.
Suit Jammer - (????)/possibly cancels out all nearby suit abilities for a short time.
Maximum Suit - (????)/possibly extreme effects from suit modes, or multiple modes at once.

There you go.
Some hopefully new info.

There's no "Power Struggle" or whatever it's called, which I've seen many people begging for.
With vehicles it's likely there'll be bigger maps.
There's no sign of anything higher than 6v6 (which is a good thing in my opinion).

So what do you guys think of the gametypes?
Also; buy me a cat.

Gunner seat footage was shown during the E3 single-player demo. It's a prescripted event.

If you base this on Crysis 1 prescripted events...it still COULD hint at controllerable vehicles.....who knows. no point speculating honestly...this close to release all we can do is pray they're hiding it from us, or that modders will release stuff FAST, but based on the small amount of vehicles released in crysis 1 i have little hope for modders coming up with a full fledged power struggle on their own.

In singleplayer, you can drive vehicles, but not in MP, because it would be inbalanced. Also imagine a car driving through Skyline... lol

But then what could the "Road Rage" award be for?
And driving a truck through Skyline = Epic.

There are vehicles for SP, but not MP.
In one level "Semper Fi or Die", I think, you need to drive a humvee across a collapsing freeway or something.

The only other thing I can think of would be kicking a car into someone and killing them, but that seems oddly specific compared to the rest of the awards.

They should have land, air & sea combat vehicles in missions & in multi-player because it adds a lot value & makes it worth the $50-$60.im tired of playing those other fps games with a lack of substance & depth to them their a dime a dozen & a complete waste of money.

Lol, someone cut my post out. Ok.
Forum Ninjas are on the prowl...

And what about that But then what is the Road Rage award for?
Any ideas for that?

And to the above post; vehicles do add variety, but they also add complexity - which discourages new and/or casual players and kids, which mean less sales, lower population (very bad for non-Americans), and often causes balancing issues.

Road Rage = award for getting kills by kicking over car x amount of times.

Conspiracy theory debunked. NO vehicles are going to be in the multiplayer. ;)

At least, that would not fall in the same as the Sp aspect of Crysis 2. :|

No vehicles in crysis 2's multi player is such bs because even epic games included vehicles in unreal tournament 3's multi player & all types of gamers play that game & the community is still alive & thriving from what i've heard. So if crytek just wants make crysis 2 just another dime a dozen fps game then my $60 is best spent else where.

Vehicles have been confirmed to single player.
Excluding them from multiplayer was a design decision.

I don't know how well the first Crysis is doing now, or was doing at it's peak,
but it simply wasn't bringing in the crowds Crytek wanted.
This is their new angle; and I like the gameplay personally. [Although no search preferences = no buy]

u really want a cat?

When i am engrossed in some game and my cat needs feeding, she climbs up behind me gets hold of my headset with both paws and starts to gently tug, and then she starts to bite the back of my head, (Gently i add) until i respond.

this can be most annoying, but she is worth it, lol
someone get a cat for this dude, lmao

It was always fun driving a vehicle at full speed in Power Struggle and running over some cloaked guy without even know it. Speed Bump!

This is not for pet-purposes.
I intend to use the *Cat - Buttered Toast - infinite power solution* to power my cannon.
When I have exceeded the power needed for my cannon, I will use the cat to breed more cats,
and use the offspring as ammunition for my cannon.

World domination will be mine.
Also; buy me a cat.

lol, and about Crysis 1, i disliked people with the speed bump notion,i would be that guy who got ran over, and somehow, i got through crysis wars always in the top 4 in power struggle.........but i still don't know how to
1. Buy vehicles
2. Buy a nuke
3. Launch a nuke
4.Do voice commands
5.Or anything else thats advance, the guide never tells you enough.
i always get teamed up with assholes that just respond with "look it up"
dude.......i'm on your team, would it kill you for some support?

So.... what i'm trying to get at is, vehicles created an unfair advantage.....my retarded self
could never figure this out.
PS. HATE LAGGY VTOLS

From what I've seen the maps aren't designed for vehicles. No vehicles in the game doesn't bother me at all. If gunner vehicles were added the only thing it would add to gameplay is easy kills on big maps. So you end up with cat and mouse gameplay.
