Dropping the black books

Post » Tue Oct 08, 2013 9:44 am

Once I am done with Dragonborn main quest, How can I drop all those huge and annoying black books?

I don't want to carry them around for the next 100 years.

Will player.removeitem xxxxx

work?

Or is there a way to remove their quest status and containerize them?

Thanks.

I know that on console's you get lumbered with at least two at the end of the main quest, and you can't drop them.

I had four last time and it was annoying as heck to have them permanently cluttering up my inventory.

I don't care that they are weightless.. I just want them gone.

I don't know if the SetQuestItem command works in this game, but if it does, setting the Flag to 0 will allow you to drop the item or put into a container..

SetQuestObject 0

However, if that does not work, then just drop the item using the remove command. Just note, it is gone from the game world once you do this. Note, since these books are part of a DLC, you need the offset value (load order number of the DLC) when using the Item ID.

Also, for Quest Related weapons, you can equip the item, then use a Weapon Rack to display it. Then it is removed from your inventory. I have not tried to pick something up again to see if it gets stuck, so beware of that.

That kinda svcks, being that Im on PS3 and have a slight case of OCD when it comes to that kind of stuff. But since it is weightless it doesnt bother me too much.

I wish there was a mod that would let me remove them or sell them... or something. Just don't want them in my inventory.
