Drug Addiction

So after reading Overmare Studios' http://theovermare.com/blog/2015/01/addiction-and-how-it-affects-you (great idea btw), I was wondering how everyone thinks of drug addiction in Fallout 3 and New Vegas... And what would you do to make it better.

Personally, I don't ever do drugs in both games, including drinking alcohol, but that's mostly because I don't care.... So I never experienced drug addiction in either games. Can't say much about it... However, I know it's an interesting part of the game (or an annoying part to some)... So what are ye' thoughts on drug addictions, if ya don't mind me asking?

To be honest I only got addicted once in FO3 and was more careful after that but I think it's a good idea maybe not done right, it is a little too easy to fix and you need to over use most stuff to get hooked.I'd think about changing it's all addictive drugs have addition rating from 1 to 10 that rolls against one of your stats (I'd use luck ) and the add up over time if used before your body as become totally clear of it ( around twice the affect time), so say stim packs have a 1 addiction rating and wear off after 30 seconds if your luck was 5 you need to use 6 in 30 seconds to become addicted but say buffo with an addition of 5 and a 120 minutes wear off would have you hooked after 2 in 2 hours

I like the idea. But it was handled terribly in in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Addiction that lasts ...forever? But wait! It gets even more bizarre! Pay a few caps to a doc and he can cure it instantly!

They handled addiction well in Fallout 1 and 2. In those games addiction lasted seven days after the character's withdrawal symptoms develop. That actually makes some kind of sense.

If Bethesda includes addiction in Fallout 4 I hope they return to Fallout 1/2's addiction. I'd rather have no addiction at all than the unimmersive, nonsensical addiction we see in the last two games.
