drum magizine for shot gun

Post » Tue Nov 23, 2010 2:20 pm

Again, that is the revolver-style design of the SRM-1216

Actually, if we are talking about the guy on the far left, that is a Gerund outfitted with a drum magazine. The guy in the middle has the Hjammerdeim/SRM-1216.

Oh, that's clearly a beta mag for a rifle, didn't even consider he was talking about that >.>

There is a question I have, though; considering that the Hjammerdeim has a revolver-style magazine, the mag should rotate to the next chamber every time you fire a shot, right? So how are you supposed to hold it with both hands? Or do you just hold the section in the front, right beneath the barrel?

Its not like a true revolver, there are 4 tubes in a revolving cylinder, each tube holds 2, 3, or 4 shells depending on the length of the weapon. Once you empty one tube, you flip it to the next.

You'll have to turn it yourself, but it might get interesting how they do it in the game.
Do you turn after every 4 shotsand then reload after 16 shots or do you just reload after 4 shots?

I would assume that there is a short pause to turn the cylinder, and then when you are out of ammo you just pop in a new cylinder, like you do with a new clip.

I've never heard of that kinda loading system before. That would make a lot more sense :P

That's the question. Considering xShadowcat's response, in total the Hjammerdeim could have between 8 to 24 shots. For balancing reasons I would suppose a total of 8 shots would be in one tube, though.

Its Unique to this gun, and has not been released to the public yet, so dont feel too bad. I only found out about it researching the real world counterparts to the guns in the game.

I was actually mistaken, its either 8, 12, or 16 total, depending on the length. To make it better than the Medium shotgun, I would assume that it holds 16 shells in the game.

in past games people were cheap with the shotgun because it was a one shot kill up close but i like how brink makes it to where you need multiple shots to kill a person

Cheap? What about unlimited ammo 15 meter instakill knife? Shotguns have no chance againts them when shotgun is instakill mostly on hug distance.
2 shots at close, 3 shots between medium and close, 4 at medium would be quite good. Realistic aspects except damage (pump speed, spread and range) i think splash will get them right

Shotties can get a one hit incapacitate depending on range and enemies health, but from full, it's a bit more.
Also, what is the secret of your power?

For the record:

Funny, the video showcasing this weapon has been posted in this thread already.

The heavy shotgun has a rotating magazine of sorts, as it is based off of this weapon; but the Medium shotgun is tube fed, and thus can not use magazines.

Still, it's a pretty impressive idea.

Aren't the Hjammerdeim and Mossington both placed under the Medium weapons class? I thought shotguns were in the same category as assault rifles.

Mediums can carry Hjammerdiem shotguns. It can be seen in Container city part 2 I think.

In that demo, they had all weapons unlocked for the medium body, just for demonstration purposes. If you look at the weapon menu, you can see all of the heavy weapons available.

Hjammerdiem (SRM-1216) is the heavy shotgun, Mossington (XM-1014) is the medium shotgun.

And they will actually be useful with the way the minimap works. Considering you wouldn't want to sneak up behind 3 people, fire one shot, and have them all see you on the map.

Well, I 'm sure if you snuck up on 3 people, close enough to use a shotgun, the sound of the shot would alert them, regardless if it was suppressed or if you showed up on the map. :)

If there's 3 people standing together, it wouldn't be unusual to hear gunfire behind you, especially if you go for the one in back.

If you move, bullets follow you everywhere but faster than you......not much choice.

moving is the only option if you want to live, shooting and hitting while moving will prolong that experience, standing still will only make you die, movement is what they've built this game around

I wonder if the Mossington will be semi-auto, though. The 1014 is, after all.

Objective based gameplay is what they build the game around.
Now many objectives require you to stand still for a while.
See where I'm getting at?

You're right, but it still is damn fast and very effective. It can be seen in the Reactor gameplay video.
