Dova Soul Overhaul is something I've been rolling around in my head for a few days now and I was wanting some opinions on if this would be possible. Essentially I am unhappy with how the dragon soul system works in Skyrim. Why is the soul of a Ancient Dragon equal to the soul of a Dragon? In my mind I see the soul of the Ancient Dragon being much more powerful.

Where am I going with this? Well, if I remember correctly when you read a Word Wall you basically just learn a word of power but have no inner knowledge of how provoke the Word. I am getting this from the first meeting of Grey Beards when the show you the word on the floor and then one of them steps forward and gives you his inner knowledge of how the word works. I always imagined it as when you absorb the dragons soul your taking knowledge from it to learn the inner mechanics of a learnt word, but you can only filter the knowledge of one soul to one word.

What's the point? You have three words to chain to gain a full shout. Each level of word should contain a higher knowledge needed. Dragons would contain the knowledge to unlock the first tier word, but not the second or third, and no accumulation of them will be enough. Blood and Frost dragons would contain the knowledge for second tier words, and have the same conditions as dragons. Elder , Ancient, Revered, and Legendary would contain the knowledge to unlock third tier words.

Alduin's soul I would like to do something special with, but havnt thought of anything yet.

So what do you guys think? Would this be doable? I would like to try and do this for myself (granted I would need a lot of scripting help and pointers) as I have never released a mod before but I would really like to release something to the community.

I have no idea if this would be doable but I like the idea.

Thanks, I have other ideas for mods but I think dragon souls could use some tlc.

Thunderchild makes new shouts with scripts attached to them, you could probably do something similar to whatever affects the vanilla shouts.
