Dual casting Dragonhide...bug or intended?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 5:45 am

Just read from other posts, apparently Dragonhide, despite being a master spell, CAN be dual casted, and gives a nice 99 seconds duration if you also stability. Just wondering if this is an oversight or working as intended? I suspect the former.

Of course, the spell itself still have one other bug, as all the flesh spells will cancel out Dragonhide's effect. And combined with the horrible default duration of Dragonhide means it is useless in situations that really can use it. So personally I don't have a problem with the capability of dual casting it...

Why wouldn't you be able to dual-cast it? It increases the time it's effective, as it's supposed to. It'd be weird, imo, only if it gave you double the resistance against physical damage, which would mean you'd be unkillable.

Because all the other master spells cannot be dual casted, so the unique situation with dragonhide smells like a bug to me. Not that I complain about it though, as every other master spells, especially the destruction spells, svcks as they cannot be dual casted and feel so weak compared to expert spells.

Well the other ones are very unique, especially the destruction. The alteration is merely a protection spell, nothing unique about that. Or does casting dragonhide take a lot longer than normal alteration spells?

It takes like 5 seconds to cast... like all master spells.

In that case it's not supposed to be happening, as all master level spells are supposed to be equiped in both your hands, like a warhammer. :unsure2:

Can anyone confirm that dragonskin lasts for 99 seconds with the dual casting perk?

I think 30 seconds, or 45 with the perk, just isn't long enough.

Dual casting ebonyflesh with the perk increases duration by 50%, will give you ~3 mins of ebonyflesh. With 100 armor rating, 300 with the perk and no armor. Not to bad, but 300 (or 350 with the lord stone) isn't really enough.

Yep confirmed. I use DH for thick melee situations where lots of baddies will be up close and personal. Combined with Ethereal shout you can charge it up again during combat. I am liking DH with dual bound swords and ethereal shout. My mage is enjoying acting like a tank Nord. :)

Plus, past lvl 50 this gives me more opportunity to level skills I had not previously developed.
