I think people are just afraid of what past mmo's have done, and that is build off of wow, simply to fail.

I honestly think the whole "wow-clone" thing has been blown way out of proportions. It's like calling every band that uses electric guitars and a lead singer a "Beatles-clone".
Reality check incoming.
ESO will have elitists, cookie cutter builds, fotm builds, and jerks who will annoy you. These things are part of MMOs, not WoW.
Whining about WoW means WoW has won, as you no longer play it but are still talking about it.
QFT, and let me add that WoW was widely panned at lauch for stealing features from EQ and other MMOs before it... giving WoW credit for stuff you don't like is giving it way TOO MUCH credit.
Not that this is my thread or anything, but I believe the OP was "dual speccing" or as I would like to see it implemented: "Multiple load outs". The OP was not, however, "An anolysis of the influences of World of Warcraft".
Just saying, guys.
"Reality check coming" (please, take that 1sided your right and I'm wrong crap out the door, mmk? because thats not what is going on here.) ---- Thankyou for telling me something i already knew. And they aren't all apart of every MMO, WoW has built off of it in the worst way possible. Its all based off of FOTM classes. Whats wrong with fighting for that bs to not carry over in ESO? But thankyou for the history lesson.
And i didn't know there was a competition going, i guess wow won though, right? I am not here for a lesson from you, im here to state my opinions according to the OP, as that is what everybody else is doing to. Keep your so called "reality checks", to yourself. thanks.
Dang, this thread has some of the least justified WoW-hate I've ever seen, and lemme tell you, I've seen some pretty unjustified WoW-hate.
In case some of you missed it, the OP's question was:
Now, in ESO (which, I dunno, maybe some of you have played), different skills are good for different things. For instance, the Magelight skill (which makes it easier to see stealthed players) is much better in PvP than in PvE, whereas the Puncture skill (which applies a taunt if you use it on an NPC, but not if you use it on a player) is much better in PvE than in PvP. To take another example, group buffs like Molten Weapons are much better when playing in a party than when playing solo.
That means you're going to want to switch between different skill loadouts fairly frequently (like, every time you switch between PvP and PvE, and possibly also between soloing and group play within PvE). Wouldn't it be convenient if you could do that with a single button, instead of having to tab through all your skill lines and click and drag every time?
And before somebody says it, no, this is not what weapon swap is for. As soon as you unlock weapon swap, you're going to fill up your second skill bar with all the abilities you haven't had room for, you're still going to use most or all of your slotted skills in every fight, and you're still going to be jonesing for more slots.
Just because something happened to be implemented in WoW doesn't mean it's unreasonable to ask if it would be a good idea in ESO. I personally would love to be able to save and re-apply skill loadouts.
Nah i didnt miss it, and answered it earlier. People are now just starting to change the thread around, to wow. reguardless read my old posts if you want answers. Dual spec would be a great feature, but im weary. we all have our opinions.
Here is the fourth reply to this thread (after three that answered the question but did not discuss further):
These are what I was replying to. I was arguing that the OP's (entirely reasonable) question did not justify the level of "NO IT'S FROM WOW I HATE IT" that appeared in response to it.
Not going to even dignify that with a response, as ive stated my opinions / beliefs earlier. Dragging a dead horse along. Lets just get back to the OP.
Like i said earlier, my opinions and the likes have been posted, we all have our own opinions. quit dragging a dead horse and get back to OP.
But WoW had dead horses!
Just kidding.
As to OP I really can't see a sound argument against being able to switch between load outs. If anyone has any I'd be very interested in hearing them.
