Dual Specialization

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:37 am

I've been thinking about how I'm going to set up my classes in BRINK, and I've essentially decided that it would best suit my purposes to have my characters specialize in two different classes equally.

For example, I plan to make a soldier that could at any moment switch to medic, or an engineer that could become an operative, without me losing my combat effectiveness due to overspreading of skills across all different classes, while still maintaining versatility on the battlefield should the need arise for me to change my class.

So will anyone else do this? feel free to share your ideas for doing this strategy on the battlefield.

there are apparently 10 abilities per group. and 20 levels. so if my info is correct, you could max 2 groups.

i acually plan on focusing on universal and soldier, with a few points in other classes to round them out for emergency use.

I too like the idea of being an engineer/operative. It would be awesome to sneak behind enemy lines and hack a command station, then use it to turn into an engineer and set up a turret from somewhere they wouldn't expect it.

Nope.

You have 5 levels before you can buy class-specific abilities.

And I wouldn't want all class-specifics anyway.

I've been planning all along to go Operative/Medic, by the way.

And to the guy saying you can't do it....

You can't actively BE both classes at once, but you can level up abilities to use on both, which is a good plan, because the game lets you swap classes mid-mission - if you can effectively fill two roles, you're less likely to be one of "those idiots who insist the other guy should change class"

you should be able to choose between if you want to have the knife and a pistol or if you want to have dual pistols or dual knifes.... all of that stuff was in the cinematic trailer shouldnt it be in the game?
