Dual Weild Two Handers

I hope I can dual wield two handed weapons. Then I can run around and shout "Big [censored]in Axes!" Maybe i can make that my character's shout too.

Yeah . . . No. That would be insanely stupid. There's a reason they're called TWO-handers.

If you can dual-wield two-handers...that means you can wield them with one hand.

So what's the point of them being TWO-handers?!

Two handed weapons are two handed because they are two big to hold in one hand. So maybe if you got your strength high enough.

Can I dual wield anvils and crush people with them? I can in A.D.O.M. As well as killing dragons by throwing slippers at them.

Also pretty please with a sugar on top keep your compensational fantasies away from my semi-realistic RPG experience, will you?

Titan's grip like in World of Warcraft for the warrior class allows you to dual wield two-handed weapons but for half the speed. If it was a perk with extremely high skill/strength requirements.. maybe. otherwise no.

How about triplewielding those. Just use "summon hand on self for 30 seconds" before.

^ what he said. 2-handed weapons are not balanced for 1 handed use so there would actually be less force applied at the point of contact than a smaller weapon... it would also make for much slower swing times and ineffective parrying. It just is not feasible for someone to do that, but if it was just a matter of weight and strength I would be all for it.

Barb in Diablo 2 can dual wield 2h weapons, but the damage on both is cut in half. So it's basically no real difference between one 2h or two 2h weapons, since the damage output is roughly the same. Unless the items have runes/are artifacts.

Yes, but that makes sense in WoW, because it's an immature game, based on immature lore. Not meaning that as an insult necessarily. That's part of WoW's charm, but that's not part of TES's charm.

Some of you guys are acting like this is a totally stupid idea. Don't you think it is entirely reasonable that if you use 2-handed weapons throughout your entire playthrough while taking the associated perks, that it's possible there MIGHT be a perk that allows you to dual wield 2-handers? I believe it is entirely possible.

Yeah. You're right. Shooting fire, ice, and lightning out of your fingertips is so much more practical.

Makes total sense to me. See xivilais. They use two handed weapons in ONE hand. I can totally see them dual wield.

With a real high strength, balance doesn't matter so much. You just wield a big sword to cut things.

The speed penalty would need to be huge.

Also, a chance of snapping your wrists off your forearm should be a possible risk.

With the races we are able to play, I don't see how this can be possible without making it seem comical. The non-playable races, like giants or trolls, can make a go of this, but not a nord or an orc.

There's no harm in allowing the player to try, so long as there are realistic penalties associated with it. In real life you can try to lift a two hander on each hand, and even succeed if you're strong enough, but I'm pretty sure it would be very difficult, if at all possible, to use them efficiently.

Let's not WoWify TES please. If anything is dual wielding 2 handed weapons, it should be something that makes sense, like frost giants, huge ice trolls, or something of that nature. The balance of 2h weapons is such that not only would you need to be very strong, you would also need to be massively heavy to counterbalance the weight you're swinging around. Nothing I've seen about the 10 races suggests that any of them have the stature necessary.

I'd be happy with just being able to hold a two handed weapon with a single hand with a REALLY high strength. I want a Xivilai race mod possible. With 200 strength. And being able to hold that two handed daedric warhammer with a single hand.
