I think that the ability to dual wield would be neat. Maybe it could turn a sidearm into a light weapon. But, sadly, it has been confirmed that dual wielding isn't in the game.

No, I'm sorry, but it has been confirmed that there is NO dual-wielding OR molotov cocktails, although both would be awesome.

Actually, I understand that in one of the expo demos, Molotovs were found to be added back into the game.

While it might be neat if you could dual wield, I can see where this would raise issues based on Brink's body type system.

Seems like it could be balanced. Like I said earlier, it could make pistols into a light weapon, as opposed to a sidearm. It would allow Light players to carry dual pistols as a main weapon and another pistol as a sidearm. Could also be a secondary weapon for a medium player.

The way I would utilize it as a light would be to have a pair of machine pistols for close range, and get an accurate pistol and put a dot sight on it as long range. Sure, an SMG can do the same job, but with a game based around customization, I like the idea of a gunslinger.

It'd basically just be an easy way for the developers to add more variety among gun choices, as well as make your character look like an extraordinary badass.

Even if dual pistols is just a weapon type and not an add on, it would still be cool for character design.

The only problem that I see with dual wield weapons is that your supposed to parkour with them.

That's why they didn't add it. They want you to be able to move AND shoot instead of move OR shoot.

The only thing I can think of that needs both hands free is when trying to climb up ledges, in which case I think I would prefer to have to deal with a pair of pistols rather than, say, an assault rifle.

That is an excellent point, and pistols are not hard to put away when you need one/two hands free. I would love to see a player dual wield, then pull out a magnum with a dot sight and nail the fleeing player while they mantled a ledge.

Dual wielding secondaries would be a cool idea to take place of both primary and secondary.

I don't know if the concept should ever be applied across the board like that. A heavy dual wielding assault rifles would be silly, but not nearly as silly as a medium dqual wielding short rifles.

Dual wielding pistols kinda makes sense, but even that is really impractical, its very hard to aim each hand independently while adjusting for recoil. You could make an argument for SMGs, in games the idea isn't usually to aim with them anyway. But I would draw the line there.

They could make the dual wielding (in the pistol case) similar to that in L4D, though what that would mean for some of the pistols seen in the videos I have no clue.

...jizz in my pants.

I'd love to have a light avatar with only pistols.

You could holster one while using the SMART-system.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I'd do it even if it ended up being a disadvantage. I'm the kind of person who will run around using nothing but a pistol in a normal game just for a challenge. Or, just use the worst weapon in the game for the same reason.

Personally, I tend to use semi-automatic weaponry. Which, as a matter of fact, is usually the least used (except for quickscoping). That, of course, includes handgun-secondaries. Double M9 Berettas ... *drools*.

The best games have guns with fire-modes. Good ol' R6 Vegas ...

Eh, I personally hate semi-automatic and burst fire weapons. For rifles that is.

I look upon those days with fondness. Silencing my UMP, put it on two-shot burst, and just go crazy.

Of course, I made sure to tell anyone I killed that I UMPed them good and hard. Really hard.

Ah man you're reminding me of pre-Halo 3 days... so much fun with secondary fire modes! Where did they go on console shooters?

They reappeared in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Ghost Recon...but to be honest, Vegas 2 < Vegas 1 and I feel like Advanced Warfighter 2 didn't get the attention it deserved.

GRAW never did pull me in like Vegas, and to be truthful I always wanted to play online but decided to be frugal and only did the demo. Always wanted my friends to switch from Halo to Vegas though.

Tom Clancy is a true genius...

I know he really does nothing more then give ideas for the game and sets out a general plot, but his brand of games cover just about everything - squad based tactical shooter, stealth action gameplay, strategy (although EndWar was horrible) and now airplane games. He's got it all.
