Dual wield and armor

Post » Thu Sep 08, 2011 7:43 pm

I was wondering what will be the best armor choice for a dual wield fighter type? Light for speed or heavy to make up for having no shield?

Light hands down, because you can't dodge "in the traditional sense"!
So you'll need speed to evade the hits!

think i would go light for speed. no defence just a savage relentless dual wielded assault.

Sure go for light, except remember that you cant sprint backwards in Skyrim.

If I'm Dual Weilding, I'll be tanking out my character in Heavy Armor.

That's actually a really good question...I'm gonna dual-wield and I haven't thought about what armor to wear :nope:

Think I'll wait and see the perks for each... :hubbahubba:

because you can't dodge "in the traditional sense"!

But block... a proper nord wields 2 axes and wears heavy armor *g* So ideally the enemy is so afraid of your babaric appearance and offensive wild flailing that he is always in defensive ^^

Light armor, you can't block while dual-wielding, so you might as well be able to dodge.

i want to play a light warrior as well (but with sword and board). Anyone else hoping that we arent pigeonholed into using glass armor? I always think it looks horrible. Or elven for that matter. or deadric..lol.

I was going to say heavy cos that's probably what I'll pick up, but Light is a nice choice anyway. I suppose it depends of your gameplay...if you plan to play an "agile-type" warrior, who evades the enemy hits, or a tank who destroys everything in his path, nevermind how much damage he receives.

I would definitely wear light armor, but it's really up to you, whether you want to wear light or heavy armor.

If no magic and no stealth I would try heavy armor first.

If you are wearing heavy armour, and thus slowed, may as well go the whole hog and carry a shield. You can't dodge or escape easily, may as well have an unassailable defence. Just make sure the other hand has a very big stick. For two weapons, and forgoing defense for attack speed, take light, move faster. Play to strengths, rather than using a half and half approach.

i dont think there is a "best" choice, its whatever you prefer... more defense, or more speed.

not everyone plays the same, so there is no single best choice for everyone.
