I am sure I'm not the only fan of dubstep here.

So, in saying that. Anyone else like it? Have a favorite song? Post it up :]

No songs with cussing please. I don't want this locked.

You'd think it'd be a progression, considering my tastes in Dance, Trance, and electronic music...but I'm just not a fan of dubstep. They all seem to start out nice, but then every song has the same one point where it turns. You know, everything goes quiet and you hear something revving up, and then "bam-wab-wab-wab-wab-wahb-wab-wahb-wab-wabwabwab-wab". Like every song I swear. :P

That said, I like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDYIdBZUl2Y very much, though that's more because it lacks the traditional "wab-wab-wab-wab" stuff. Leads me to believe that's it's not actually dubstep at all and the video title is just misleading me.

The "wobble bass" is absent in most old dubstep.

It sounds more like reggae actually. Let me see if i can find some songs

oh trust me, that's dubstep alright. The "wab-wab-wab-wab" thing is only noticeable in new dubstep, and it's definitely not one of the things that define dubstep as a genre.

You know any songs that don't have the wobbles? I can't seem to think of any at the moment.

Anyway, I love the wobble myself. But it does get old after a while.

Especially after i learned to make them myself. That got annoying for a while lol.

I also find some of the electronic sounds particularly appealing but notice too much similarity from song to song from the many I've listened to. I'm more into an industrial variant of electronic for the pounding and riffs opposed to the obvious drops. However, it's certainly not the worst electronic type music I've heard, and think of it as one step up from dnb.

Yeah, i like DNB and all the other types of electronic music as well.

What are some good Industrial songs? Not heard much of that.

Also, not really dubstep, but by a dubstep artist

Those are a few examples of the electronic variant of Industrial.

At work a friend of mine put on some Pandora dubstep station, or something that seemed like dubstep (I think it was more of a fusion of dubstep and some other crap) but I did like a few songs I overheard from Adam Arete, Darkstar, and joman.

Sorry? >_>

Well, you know, this is serious business and all.

It's not like this entire subforum repeats itself with topics every few weeks amirite?

Anyhow, one thing I learned about dubstep is with having it on all day at work is that I don't mind it in short intervals, but the repetition of sounds I often heard in short intervals in a handful of songs made it somewhat nerve wracking. To reiterate, still a step above dnb. :P

I'm pretty sure Rustie hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread, but he's absolutely amazing. He basically invented the "aqua crunk" genre, but he's really dub at the core. These two tracks are particularly dirrrrrty...

I know a lot of links have been posted, but I would really, REALLY recommend listening to this stuff. It's class.

I'll give it a listen after this track I'm listening to ends.

http://www.tjoonz.com/dubstep/excision-shambhala-2010-dubstep-mix/ Free download there, and it is perfectly legal.

It's pretty amazing.
