Is there a good supply of duct tape some where or is it just something you need to be constantly on the look for?

Vipers sometime have them, REPCONN basemant had some, and Vault 3 has a nice supply too IIRC. They can also sometime be bought from traders.

Aside from the 6 or 7 rolls you can steal in Novac in and around the gas station there really isn't a Duct Tape mother lode in FNV unfortunately. I found one maybe two rolls in Vault 3, same at REPCONN. Your best bet is to steal the rolls in Novac and take the Karma penalty and buy every one you see offered for sale by any and all merchants.

The gunrunner robot seems to sell at least one duct tape with fair regularity. Not every single time tho. I have more trouble finding enough wrenches. I mean, there's a lot of them, but it's always what I need more of for repair kits. Even when I have plenty, I have a repair kit compulsion. heh

All vendors seem to sell some but you can find a great stash at the novac gas station (everything you need for weapon repair kits). If you stockpile there and go to Repconn (after you clear it out) you can craft approx 12 at the launch station. There are more ingredients in the basemant of repconn along the way.
IMO weApon repair kits are the single most valuable crafted item.

I've found a lot in dumpsters and garbage cans on this playthrough. And by a lot, I mean I'm sitting on about 30 duct tapes and I have barely hit the New Vegas area and haven't even been into any vaults or anything. Just found most of mine in the wastes.

My experience is you check every vendor frequently and open every single tool box and check every shelf. You keep a supply of duct tape one roll at a time. Also, I don't use them for home made bombs either, only for weapons kits.

you need to keep an eye out for all the ingredients for repair kits, but lady gibson, gunrunners, blake, chet, etc all have a bit here and there to buy but otherwise yeah just be always looking for it, i always have like 50 weapons repair kits plus take the jury rigging perk and you won't need the repair kits much at all, but its nice to have stockpile of em, also raise your repair skill so that the repair kits work better.
