Dude, where's my corpse?

Picture the scene: you've just taken down the last of a group of raiders with a well placed long-range headshot and you're feeling pretty damn pleased with yourself. Four against one and still standing. You take a couple of stimpaks and then, still grinning, you sprint over to stock up on raider armor, weapons, and a few other assorted goodies that you can sell on for cold hard cash. But there's a problem. when you get there, you only find three bodies. Now you definitely remember shooting four raiders, but for some reason, you can only find three bodies. You begin searching the immediate area and... nothing. Nada. So you widen the search a little, but still nothing. After what seems like an eternity you decide to move on, your spirits dampened a little, never knowing for sure just what that last elusive raider was carrying, and where the hell did his body go anyway...

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has experienced this! Would be nice if they could somehow address this issue in Fallout 4.

Oh yeah, the number of times I did this in Fallout 3, spending all that time trying to find a raider body which probably had next to nothing to loot anyway. :bonk:

I don't remember it happening so often in NV.

I thought you were going somewhere towards the last raiding simply running away after seeing their friends all get killed by one person. But yeah I get what you mean. I don't know how much I like the idea that other games have. Sometimes it's an outline for lootable things you can see if you press a button, sometimes it's an indicator on the minimap that something dropped loot. Maybe a VATS system for lootable items.

It's a little funny if you take Bloody Mess, because then you have no idea which raider is which amongst the piles of gore.

I'm not sure what they could do to mitigate this, but I guess some way of highlighting corpses would work if it was done believably. It would be nice too if there was some sort of indicator that we've looked through a container already, like greying out the text. Marking empty containers as empty was freaking awesome.

I'd try to kid myself "ah, I probably just winged him/her and they've crawled off" but in reality I knew they glitched through the map.

seen about none of this happen in skyrim (or very rarely, if ever), so i'm quite confident they got that covered.

(actually, from all i remember, this was worst in earlier gta versions: step on road to halt a couple cars, turn around look for other nice rides, turn back, totally dif cars in line :-)

The other hilarious and often terrifying thing about corpses in many of Bethesda's games is when they suddenly start "breakdancing" in ragdoll mode for no apparent reason. Especially effective when it's 3 in the morning and your brain is less than capable of figuring out what the hell is going on!
