Should be great! Good combos; Dual Daggers, Dual Shortswords, Dual Hammers, Dual Shields!

I think you can still block with duAl wield, by hitting the two togheter?

I hope so, that sounds like a great way to make it work.

I'm excited, but I need to see it in action first. What advantage will dual-wielding provide? Why would I want to use a weapon in each hand instead of a shield or a spell? Are there any limitations, and if so, what are they?

What I want is a character that can use a sword in one hand and a maine gauche in another. In Mw and Ob I modded in a maine gauche that acted as a shield - i.e. it could only block. It looks like this will be possible to now use both weapons as weapons, but I hope that blocking is possible, otherwise I am probably in the same boat as I was with Mw and Ob. I don't really see how my character survives without the ability to block.

We'll have to wait and see what the system looks like.

Sounds good to me, but obviously wont know until we get to see it in action. As for what I intend to wield, my first character is going to be a Battlemage so Mace + Spell or a Spell in each hand, depending on what I need in any given situation. Hoping the 'favorites' mechanic is good and fluid so that I don't have to keep going into my menu/inventory screen to switch.

I'm going with dagger + dagger but the opener is the bow+arrow.

Not very effective to block with a sword. Better off parrying.. wait can we do that?

Dagger in my right and fire spell in my left -- for when assassinations go wrong.

They wanted to combat to be more tactical so you have to choose between offence and defence.
After all what's the point of a shield when you can do the same with two weapons?

One handed (probably left) unarmed, right has a small blade. Total stealth. I'll also make good use of the new bow mechanics. I <3 Bethesda.

i hope there is some kind of perk for having one hand completely empty....give you quicker attacks or something.... because i was also thinking of a dagger in one hand and having the other empty.... but i was also thinking that for more intense battles where stealth is not possible, i would like to fill that empty hand with a short sword...

Must...dual wield...SHIELDS!!!

Oddly enough I'm looking forward to trying that.
Some NPC catchings me burglarizing his house and goes to call the guards I'm going to try to gore him unconscious with shield bashes.

I like it because it gives me more variation on my mage.

Deciding between 2 Destruction spells or a Destruction spell and an Alteration spell (for defense).

Can't decide yet. Awfully exciting though.

I too want to be a confused turtle from time to time with two shields.

I'll most likely be doing a marksman character first off, with some small blades or hatchets as melee weapons. Depending on what the unarmed type of combat is I would love to have no weapons at all or only a bow. I was an avid hand to hand user in Oblivion.

My most likely choices are

Bow
Shortsword+Hatchet
Magic+ War Axe
Magic+Magic (probably destruction in both. A weakness application and then an elemental combo. I am looking forward to spamming large amounts of spells at once though. It may make mages much more offensive and fun.)
Nothing.

It gives a lot of choices so

metal bar and chain lightning place the metal rod in the foes armor then let loose hell
also looking towards having 2 shields :flamethrower: :cookie:
just tap block to kill em or run at em

It is the feature i am most exited about, atleast as far as combat. Ive all ways HATED not being able to in morrowind or oblivion. In other good rpgs I have played there were allways classes that could dual wield. Looking forward to specializing in swords and flailing wildly at an enemy with 2 blades.

And enchanting the blades! Idea: Enchant one with weakness to fire, and the other with fire damage :)

I will use two longswords, or maybe longsword on main hand and shortsword on the offhand.
