Dueling Circles - Major City Attraction Idea

Post » Tue Feb 25, 2014 5:41 pm

Imagine walking outside a major city such as Daggerfall to stumble upon a “Dueling Circle” right outside its gates. What the heck is a Dueling Circle? Well, this is a place where players can duel one another of the same faction. What does the Dueling Circle look like? Imagine a very large circle with a stone perimeter, numerous faction flags in the ground, a few horses, and a Duel Master NPC. How do you start dueling? Once you talk to the Duel Master NPC, they will ask you who do you want to duel (opponent must be in the immediate area). Once your opponent accepts the challenge and both players enter the Dueling Circle, you both turn hostile. If a player leaves the circle boundary or their health is reduced to 1, they lose the match. Players cannot die from dueling.

This new dueling mechanic will allow players to get accustomed to PvPing, allow them to test builds, and ultimately help them prepare for the Alliance War. This may even help get the diehard PvE players out of their comfort zone and help with the war effort. Players can find multiple Dueling Circles around major cities in Tamriel. Imagine dueling at night with torches around the perimeter! Thoughts?

I am in favor of dueling, I don't care much how it is implemented just that it is there. What your talking about kinda sounds like the team dueling grounds in Lineage II. I will add that I think if you do want to see dueling sooner rather than later, it does not look like it will be there on release, then speak up ZOS has done an excellent job listening to the community.

I also sincerely hope they add dueling to the game, I don't see why it wouldnt be implemented in the first place. Whether its a dueling circle or the good ole challenge method. I love dueling people, it hones your pvp skills on a much smaller scale. We all have competitive friends who think they're better than everyone. Without dueling, it's just people talking smack. It feels nice to put those people in their place :teehee:

Well some form of dueling feature would be nice. If a special zone in towns would make it easier to implement sure.
