Playing on the XB1. I have collected a handful of books, and a couple of bobble heads. But nowhere can I find a screen that shows me where my skill levels are, how far to next level, etc. I simply go up to a safe, terminal, or lock and it says "too advanced". Surely I'm overlooking something that will tell me where I stand on these skills?

You need to put perk points in the respective perk for lockpicking and hacking, bobbleheads and magazines add other passive bonuses, but you still need to spend perk points on the actual perks if ya wanna lockpick/hack more advance stuff.

The Stats tab of your pip-boy shows your level and experience progress. As to your "skill" levels, those are located in the perk chart, though I have no idea what button you press to access that on Xbox.
