Dungeon Entrance Teleportation

Having a spell that could teleport you elsewhere, I'd love to see a comeback of Mark/Recall. But to have a fast travel option to exit a dungeon? No way. Part of the fun in dungeon delving is not knowing what's up ahead. There are times you can rest deep in a cave, or on a different floor and have some enemies appear on your way out. Plus, there were a few times, where by leaving, I stumbled across something I missed. Might have been something small like an ingredient or something larger like a chest. But having that different perspective on the way back, can sometimes lead you to things you didn't see the first time thru.

As I recall, lots of dungeons (especially the Ayleid ruins and forts) had a very easy way to get to the exit. In the Ayleid ruin just across from the sewer exit you could just hop down a ledge which brought you within 20 meters of the exit once you've cleared it as I recall. Same with Fort Blueblood which allowed the player to pull a lever to open a gate close to the exit.

Yeah I also don't really get the issue, most Oblivion dungeons actually had these shortcuts to the exit. Except for caves but those were generally quite small anyway.

I'm not too sure about mark/recall spells by the way. On one hand I like their flexibility, but on the other I think it kinda takes the thrill out of dungeon crawling when you can always just insta-teleport to your own cozy home. So I'm somewhat undecided when it comes to that.

Why not just add ann extra "exit door" at the back, or a shortcut to the entrance of the cave, that would be unaccesible at first. Somewhere where the players can't reach, like a high ledge for example from where one could easily jump down, but would otherwise be unable to reach.

I would prefer teleportation spells and travel system back, but that doesn't look like happening.

I think that a door or something in the back of the cave is ideal and superior to my OP. as long as the pathway is in no way 2 way, or if it's ridiculously hard to find.

I prefer the secret short way out most big dungeons had I won't be using any kind of teleport spell not for my tastes and fast travels only gud when you need to stop playing and don't wanna be left in middle of 'no' wear. Dungeons are fun to trek back through seeing the carnage, I often loot on my way out, as to not get over encumbered at the end but at the exit, making things lot easier.

No we don't need a teleport system in dungeons. If it's a big dungeon then you should have to walk back to the entrance. You should feel good when you see the dead enemies that you killed on your way out of the dungeon.
