Dungeoning Ideas: Oblivion

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 11:11 pm

First ever topic!
I looked around and didn't find a topic like this. Every once in awhile I will make a set of armor (With or without sword/shield) and place the pieces in different dungeons.

So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of good dungeons, (Long, filled with traps, lots of enemies, hard, etc.) in TES: Oblivion, and maybe even an Idea or two for what I could do with them.
I have used Fort Homestead for awhile now and am beginning to feel it has run its course for me. I am dying to kill time till 11.11.11 !!

Currently I have done a few Ideas like the 'Paladins Armor' and the 'Demons Armor' and other stuff and am now just wondering if anyone else had ideas? Even using a unique item from in the game world.
Also I only have the Xbox360 version so I can't use mods.

Thanks for the input!
Also: Can't wait for Skyrim!
Life has next to no meaning till 11.11.11

Never thought to do this but it does sound very cool, maybe do something similar with a stealth set? For example, all Leather Armor (with a hood instead of that horrible, horrible helmet) with enchantments up to 50% Chameleon and Fortify Stealth and Security and Marksman? Or maybe something similar for a mage. And, since I assume your on PC, try making the perfect dungeon for it!

Actually he said he's on Xbox 360.

I'm not really sure what you mean... you take pieces of armour and scatter them in dungeons and then try to find them again? But don't you know where they are already?

Gibush, you could rp that your character knows nothing of the items that have been hidden.

Most Ayleid and Forts would suit the need.

Also try Goblin lairs. The boss at the bottom can always make things interesting. Try Fatback Cave just outside the IC.

Well First you enchant the stuff and give it a neat name (I sometimes go as far as giving it a backstory, pretty fun in and of itself) And then put it in really obscure places or at the end of a long dungeon. Makes the dungeon delving feel more worth it to me. Also it can be anything from a unique book, weapon, armour set, to the not so glorious mythical giant pile of potatoes! From the serious to the silly, its all for fun really. I once made a set of clothes called the 'Fate of the Farmer' which did nothing except harm the wearer, he had 'apparently' cursed it as he died at the hands of bandits. Another thing I made was the 'Useless Hammer' a replica ebony hammer that had non-damaging enchants such as light and feather. According to 'rumor' a potential enchanter attempted to make the most deadly hammer in all the provinces, but failed miserably, hence the name. Though the name is a little misleading, when he threw away his mistake it landed on a giant rat and killed it so it wasn't entirely useless (LOL). I am also (as another example) going to take the
Tome Of Unlife and putting it at the end of a necromancer or undead dungeon. Oh, and I usually use a 100% chameleon suit to place the items. Never to go get them.

Very interesting ideas here. Most of us have 1000 rules on the RP of our character, but this, the background of weapons and items, takes it to the next level.

For deep dungeons, try-
Vilverin
Fingerbowl Cave
Nornal
Arkved's Tower
Crayfish Cave
Veyond
Underpall Cave

Thanks for the Ideas! By the way, good call on the goblin cave, it seems perfect for something I have in mind.
Also, so your saying the first post I have ever made is A) Interesting and 2) Seemingly Original
Thats awesome!
Oh and sometimes I combine it with RP. It is a very versatile type of treasure hunt.

Oh by the way, I forgot to mention. You should wait three ingame days or so before going to get the armour so that the enemys all respawn.
The armour will still be there when you get there! I also tune the difficulty up a bit to make the adventure more epic-ey.!
