Are all dungeons caves? i loved the ruins near riverwood (with golden claw) are there any more actual "ruins"?

YES!! found my first (tiny) one. Shimmermist Cave, just east of Whiterun. After all the Falmer, I came upon it, and that was my first.

There are a LOT of Ruins. Every Major-Faction Storyline leads you to at least one ruin.
