Do dungeons get bigger?

Post » Thu Feb 27, 2014 10:59 am

The starter dungeons we've seen in beta are teeny things. My first words upon finishing one - opening my map, and realizing we'd run through everything - was, "That's it?" I'm used to ES dungeons being a few levels deep, with nooks worth exploring. I'm used to MMO dungeons being bigger.

Anyone have info on this that isn't under NDA?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Instanced dungeons are pretty big later on, like...Multiple areas big.

Most public dungeons are rather tiny, but in each zone there is at least 1 public dungeon that is much larger than the others and has a higher mob density and difficulty. You can't recognize these until you actually go inside of them and see it, but they always include at least 1 secret boss hidden somewhere that yields a skill point upon defeat.

Adventure Zones are supposed raids, which are basically bigger dungeons for 12 people.

Personally, I like the 4-man dungeons better, even though they could use a slight increase in difficulty.

Nah nah nah, AZ's are not raids. They'll be announcing more about AZ's and REAL raids soon. :) Like in March soon, supposedly.

get into Bad Mans Hollow, thats a pretty good sized solo or group dungeon right at the beginner area of daggerfall, along the coast by the docks. its got twists and turns and its layered, id imagine the later dungeons that are supposed to be big are like 10x the size or more

Bad Man's Hollow is one of those "larger" ones that I mentioned, its the first super public dungeon (or whatever they're called) on the DC side of things. Crow's Wood is the first for EP and Toothmaul Gulley is the first for AD.

The early ones are also fairly small but still larger than the average public dungeon, but they get to be multiple-areas-big the further you go in the zones.
