Dungeons of Ivellon Stendar Bow Question.

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:39 pm

Alright i finished Dungeons of Ivellon last Friday and when i left the dungeons i took Stendarrs bow as a reward. I did not check it out in actual combat, but i just did...and i took everything down with just one shot. Now since i use both the Duke Patrick Melee Combat as well as Duke patrick Combat Archery mod, the damage from weapons will improve after times. But after i took down everything with just one shot(No matter how dangerous the enemy.) i looked at the bow in the inventory...and got the shock of my Oblivion gaming life...

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w172/Illius_photos/Mod%20Problems/ScreenShot128.jpg

After seeing that i looked at the bow in the CS and there i saw it hat a damage of 27, so even when i take Duke Patricks mods into account, that could not cause this amount of power can it? Is there anything i can do about that damage from the bow, or should i simply stick with the Akaviri Elements Bow?

And yeah i know no one forces me to use Stendars bow, but since my char was rewarded with it i thought i should at least try to use it. (But this is nuts.) Also please do not make the obvious post in which you suggest to stop using the Duke patrick Mods, will not happen. :) (Nor will i un-install Dungeons of Ivellon, because i found a few items there that i really like to use. )

*Bump*

Just out of curiosity...no one has a idea how the damage can be toned down.

(Info in post above.)

EDIT: I am not using it at the moment...but i would still like to see if something can be done.

Open the construction set or TES4Edit.

TES4Edit
Load only Dungeons of Ivellon and when you see the list of plugins, find weapons and in that list find your stendarr bow. Change the damage value to anything you want. Exit TES4Edit and save changes.

TES4 Construction Set
Load Dungeons of Ivellon and make it the active file. Frome there find weapons and then sift through all of the weapons to find your Stendarr Bow. They are in alphabetical order and it will probably be under IvellonStendarrBow or whatever the author's name is Stendarr Bow. Once you find it, double click and change to anything you want. Exit the construction set and save the plugin.

Congrats, you just successfully modded your game.

I think Illius already looked at the construction set, as said in the OP, I think the problem is something going wrong with how the game modifies bow damage based on skill. Can you try temporarily disabling DP's archery mod (I love it too!) and see if the crazy stats go away?

If that fails, the high 2784 is just a scalar of the CS's 27. Change the CS's weapon damage value to like... lets do some math :P

27/2784=x/200

Change it to like 2. And see what happens?

LoL i know that part already i tried that already, sorry i should have mentioned that. :)

It is just that even with Duke Patricks Combat Archery and Duke Patricks Melee Combat NO RECOIL damage potential taken into account it still should not give a damage that huge i think. (Bow from a god or not. :) ) I just have no idea how the heck it became so high since the damage of the bow in the CS shows 27. So what i am asking is if some one has an idea as to why that particular bow(And that one alone.) has such a huge damage potential(Despite the CS damage)...and if they know then i would like to know if i myself can change it some how.

Oh, sorry, probably should have read the complete post, I stopped just before that part. Why don't you try setting it low ans find a number that makes it normal damage. In case you haven't noticed, I circumvent problems instead of solving them.

Okay i tried lowering it a few times, all the way down to a bow damage set to 1 in the CS.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w172/Illius_photos/Mod%20Problems/ScreenShot140.jpg

If you compare it to the previous screenshot you will see that lowering the damage hat the following results:

*Health of the bow dropped from 506 to 18 when looking with Display stats. (But inventory itself shows that it increased dramatically. )
*Speed increased from 0.53 to 0.97 (Which would have been nice, if everything else with the bow was normal.)
*Value ratio dropped from 16.87 to 0.60 (Frankly i do not care about that.)
*Inventory shows that damage went up from 2784 to 2796. (While Display stats shows a damage that is quit different.)

With those stats i could take down a group of creatures from OWCND before they could reach me. I tried the opposite but that made the bow slower and even more Powerfull...this is a very weird effect that this bow gets. I think i am going to ditch this bow in one of my player houses, it just is just a to weird a bow.

It is an issue with durability rocketing to obscene values, the damage/armor rating of the equipment is adjusted accordingly too. You can clearly see that the health icon (the heart) is way over 100%, it is at 51962% in the last screenshot, the bow damage gets multiplied by almost 520!
Try this with the bow equipped in the console:

set sleep to -(Player.GetEquippedCurrentHealth 16)
Player.ModEquippedCurrentHealth sleep 16

That will break your bow (durability 0) and you can repair it to normal health. But I wonder how could that happen.

YES...that did the trick, still a bow worthy for a god but i can accept this.
