Dungeons stay the level that you enter them

this means i will put off entering dungeons until I am a high enough level to feel satisfied with the rewards contained within.

It's like FO3, where dugeons have lvl floor and ceilings. Sure, if you go into a 40-50 lvl cave at lvl 4 it'll lock at 40, but you'll still get your backside kicked right to the afterlife.

Dungeons will only lock if you are at a certain level. Say a dungeons if level 20, and you go in at 17. The mobs will be 20, and it won't lock, as you aren't high enough to fight them well.

Dungeons also have a relatively narrow level range, so your level only makes a small difference at most.

So? There are still 120 more dungeons to loot. I think.

2-3 dungeons a level seems fine to me to make sure i have good enough loot from a dungeon.

Locking dungeons to a level range is one of the best changes they've made in the game.

Fallout: New Vegas handled this soooo much better than Oblivion or Fallout 3.

That's only half the story... There are level'd dungeon's now, for example, go into a level 1-10 dungeon at level 5, it'll be locked at that level but if you go into a level 10-20 dungeon at level 5 it will be locked at level 10, basically they thought about a reaction like yours and added that amazing little feature. :)

I like this system personally. I'm hoping it will ne more like MW, where you could enter a dungeon, and really get slaughtered. I feel like it made the game feel bigger because you had to remember to revisit certain places. In OB, it didn't really matter where you went, you were gonna be able to kill what ever you came up against; and considering how many caves/dungeons there were(seriously, you couldn't walk 10 feet with out stubbing your toe on the door to a new dungeon), it was kind of off putting. It made exploring for new areas kind of boring. And don't get me started on the OB random loot system...

Ok, sorry bout that.

Ok this is how it actualy works.....

every dungeon has a narrow level range.. like 1-4 20-25 35-40.... so its not as if you NEED to be overly careful.

However... as I find playing fallout and fallout new vegas its a good idea to leave some dungeons till your a bit older so you have several different level ranges for every range of dungeon. So just spread em out.

One bit of advaice.. dont enter your first dungeon till your at least 2-3... that way it will lock to 2-3 instead of 1. That DOES make a difference starting out.

Eric Cartman: I have a solution, you guys. That guy can kill us so easily because he's a super-highlevel, right? But if we were super-highlevel, too...?

Stan Marsh: We can't get to a higher level because that dude doesn't let us finish quests!

Eric Cartman: That's why we need to just log in and stay in the forest, killing boars...

Kyle: [looking at Cartman in disbelief] Boars...?

Eric Cartman: There's lots of computer-generated boars in Warcraft that die with just one blow...

Kyle: [trying to convice Cartman to give it up] Dude! Boars are only worth two experience points a piece. Do you know how many we would have to kill to get up 30 levels?

Eric Cartman: [pulls out a piece of paper] Yes. 65,340,285, which should take us 7 weeks, 5 days, 13 hours and 20 minutes, giving ourselves 3 hours a night to sleep. What do you say, guys? You can jus... you can just
hang outside in the sun all day tossing a ball around. Or you can sit at your computer and do something that matters...

We also know they respawn now if you clear the entire thing, so dungeons that were low level may be repopulated with higher levels later.

Considering how many dungeons there are (150 is the magic number, right?) then I'm guessing you could literally do nothing but dungeon crawl from the start of the game, and you'd naturally level to the point that you were getting good loot well before you hit your final one.

Bingo. I highly doubt the level lock stays in place when the creatures respawn. Nothing to worry about IMO.

I'm curious here... if a dungeon locks to me at level 5, and I reeeally like it... and go back at level 20... loot/enemies/gear is gonna be level 5 stuff?

Or will the dungeon level with you? :\

My guess is that when a dungeon resets, EVERYTHING about it resets. Creatures, loot, level lock, etc. So if it's a lvl 5-15 dungeon and you clear it out at level 5, I imagine it will be level 15 if it resets and you return at lvl 20.

Hmm, I wouldn't mind that. Only one thing to do.

Wait 48 days and see for myself. :S

I think you're missing the point of this one a bit.

Dungeons don't stay the level that you enter them. They are either equal to your level, higher than your level, or lower than your level, depending on the dungeon, and what level you are when you enter it.

If you enter a lvl 25-30 dungeon when you're level 5, it's not going to stay level 5. It will stay at level 25..

What's wrong with that?

Edit: I love that it seems like some in this thread want the dungeons to level with them.. poor Bethesda. They can't please anyone lol.
