Dunmer and Argonian relations

Wait...when were the relations between the Dunmer and the Argonians not chilly?

True. But then it was mostly Argonians disliking Dunmer.
Now I guess it's both.

Wasn't there a barfight in MW between an argonian and some dunmer?, I'd say relatioships have been chilly since the dunmer started enslaving them

technically Nerevar was kinda responsible....I'm mean if he had killed Almalexia before he was killed fighting Dagoth Ur the first time (before reincarnation) then she never would have gone crazy with permanent time of the month mood swings and then never could have killed Sotha Sil its all about how you look at it lol.

How is it that the Dunmer have Almalexia, Dagoth Ur, Sotha Sil, and Vivec who have god-like powers yet they get over-run by lizards?

The lizards apparently have their own god-like entities in the Hist, who are powerful enough to compel people to just stand still and let themselves be killed when Umbriel attacked instead of fight back or flee. And that was just one of them acting alone.

The An-Xileel and their renegade tree seem to have taken over Dagoth Ur's "death to the N'wah" plan and had better success with it. I imagine this wouldn't win them many friends among the Argonians outside of Black Marsh, who would've also been killed for being too Imperialized. So some Argonians in Skyrim might've been fleeing Black Marsh and be more sympathetic to the Dunmer side. It wouldn't surprise me if the Argonians could be facing their own civil war as well.

Tricky.
I play as an Altmer, so I have affinity for my Dunmer cousins.
But Ive always had a soft spot for the Argonians.

Best if I dont interfere between them i guess.
Though wouldnt it be funny if there was a rich Argonian (maybe a retired trader) who only had Dunmer as his servants in his mansion?
Or if Skyrim has slavery, his slaves?

... Why would Indoril Nerevar want to kill his own wife? I'm assuming they didn't marry because they hated each other, and even if it was a political marriage that would be kind of a horrible thing for him to do.

Yes. Nerevar is not the same person as the Nerevarine.

i think the Agnorians are ugly creatures but i play as a wood elf 99% of the time so the relationships between agnorians and dunmer don't upset me but i'd choose dunmer if had to pick

Wait...when were the relations between the Dunmer and the Argonians not chilly?

You have some Dunmer Houses openly pressing for the uncivilized beastly lesser races to no longer be enslaved, and how do the Argonians repay them? Ungrateful savages.

As far as I'm aware, the An-Xileel are the ones doing the invading with the aid of the Rogue Hist. It's not every Argonian against every Dunmer. I would assume the Argonians who left Black Marsh (those living in Skyrim) might not necessarily agree with the dominant political regime of their homeland. There are probably some Dunmer who have it out for Argonians because of what happened though.

Hard choice but the whole invading during Morrowind's cluster[censored] was kind of a dike move, sticking with the Dunmer.

I think that means the army. The people still live there, just in many parts they may be subjugated.

I dont think all the Dunmer just literally left.

But still I would expect that there would be tensions, also tension with Nords, and Orsimer, as it also mentioned that after the Oblivion crisis they made attacks on Dunmer land.

Not if he knew he was gonna die and when he got reborn the B**ch would try to kill him then rather than be together. (if only he had the gift of forsight)

What's a king without a kingdom, Hlaalu Helseth? It was the will of Chaos that you stagnant dunmer were decimated by creatures you called animals. Bow down before the great powers of Chaos and embrace it. The Chaos gods just may grant you mercy if they look upon you with favor.

So since
Spoiler
Black Marsh invaded Morrowind and drove all the Dunmer out to Solsteim and Skyrim
, don't you think that the relationship between the two races is a bit... chilly?
I guess we can see numerous quests about bar fights and such between them, maybe most prominently in the Dunmer city.
Speculations and thoughts?

Dunmer have tough relations with pretty much everyone thanks to their borderline (and sometimes utter) xenophobia; it's part of what made their culture fascinating. It's definitely something my Ashlander character will have to come to terms with. ;)

It sounds to me that the Dunmer could be an outcast people in Skyrim. Hated by the Argonians for obvious reasons. Plus I do not think that the Nords would appreciate the huge numbers of Dunmer immigrants suddenly crossing their borders.

The nords of Solstheim are hinted as to not mind them, and even went out of their way to help them. However, that's Solstheim, not Skyrim. Two completely different cultures and views.

Whilst I love the Dunmer, it would be interesting to see them in a new environment and standing. Once proud and righteous, they are now refugees and beaten by those they considered inferior. The same goes for Argonians. They were always seen as lesser people, but they have risen and toppled the mighty Dunmer. It would be great to see the two races' new attitudes.

Maybe, but they could prove useful allies should the Nords want to expand their eastern borders.

This would be a fun dynamic for quests. Long live the Dunmer! Down with the lizards!
