Lore wise it doesn't make sense because Nords frequently sacked Morrowind after the events that took place there. I'd imagine there will be tensions between the two. A whole city controlled by Dunmer is weird indeed though. Maybe it isn't controlled by Dunmer but there are a large group of refugees there.

Nah, it makes perfect sense. After Morrowind was destroyed, hordes of Dunmer forced their way into Skyrim's boarders, taking refuge in Winterhold. It's also isolated off from the rest of the Nordic territories.

Winterhold is also where the Mage faction is, which is weird because Winterhold isn't a major city is it?The five major cities are Windhelm, Whiterun, Markarth, Riften, and Solitude, are they not?Did they add Winterhold as a major city or are they just trying to pack too much into a minor town?

Actually now that I read the lore page about Winterhold. It does make pretty good sense. I didn't realize that it was so close to the border. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the city.

Windhelm, Whiterun, Markarth, Riften, and Solitude

I though it was those, except Winterhold instead of Markarth Side.

I was reading the page on Winterhold and saw it used to be home to a team of Gladiators. Think that maybe we'll see an Arena-esque guild in Skyrim? I hope so.

And Riften, well... that is practically Morrowind territory.

It's more like imperial territory. Especially since Morrowind basically went to pot after the moon hit Vivec, and belongs to Argonians now

Lore wise Winterhold is the most dunmer influenced city in Skyrim and little bits and pieces for Windhelm.
As for Riften very little dunmer but more likely imperial.
Falkreath will look colovian
as for the rest they will look True Nordic with no influence

Could be both. A large swell of Refugees in the mountains along the borders of Morrowind and Skyrim. THe climate would make it uninviting to invading Argonians, but it is also unlikely, especially in the midst of a civil war amongst themselves and with The Empire, that the Nords would be able to devote a full scale assault on a heavy Dunmer population. It is also likely to have magical protection.

Empire is split into two sides, there's racial tensions, Argonians took over Morrowind.... Skyrim's gonna be angry. Maybe TES:VI will be about war. Every Race for themselves.
