I, for one, was over the moon when I saw the Dunmer in Skyrim. I honestly did NOT expect them to get them right. Their vicious, blood-red eyes are back. Their skin is more gray, rather than sky blue. They have facial tattoos like they did in Morrowind. I think I speak for all Morrowind fans when I say that the dour, vicious, and cold Dunmer is one of the best things, if not THE best thing to happen to Skyrim. I doubted you Beth, I really did.

...but if you screw up the voice again, I'll damn you for all eternity.

I really like them, a Dunmer theif will definately be my first character. I really like the way they look, but they don't have to look 'evil'.

Khajiit has no words for Dunmer!

But seriously they do look fantastic especially the facial tattoos, much better than Oblivion. Although I think brown hair used in some of the presets looks weird/silly.

Yeah, I've always thought Dunmer with brown hair looked strange as well.

Yeah same here I think just straight black hair suits a Dunmer much better.

I like that they look kind of odd. They don't look like humans, because they're not humans, which makes the most sense to me. Before, in Oblivion, they just looked like the girl from Willie Wonka and Chocolate Factory that ate the gum and turned into a blueberry.

I don't like that they all look "evil" now.
I mean, I like the look(Well, for the males, at least...) but I think it's stupid that every single one of them look like they're going to stab you in the gut and then go after the rest of your family to do terrible things. It is just terrible visual design in my opinion.

Those are just the default pre-sets... From those you can tweak what they look like at will... a lot, from what I hear.

I wish some of the pre-sets were younger and looked less like they'd rolled in dirt for a while, but overall I'm very pleased with the look!

how many times do I need to say that only their skin colour and eyes were cursed? :sadvaultboy:

not entirely true, their past and future both were also cursed. vivec is the embodiment of that.

What's with everyone hating on the evil look? Dunmer are the Dark Elves, in more ways than one. They've always been that way - we saw that in Morrowind - and after the Red Year and such, we can only expect them to be that much more pissed off. They were dark in the first place, but they were also very proud of their heritage, their gods, and their homeland. Now that's all gone. In my opinion, they look exactly like how they should look.

That's exactly what I'd want something that'll really show them as ancestors they don't need to be specific Dunmer or anything for roleplaying purposes, but having an ancestor come out and defend his kin shouting as such would be amazing.

Yes, exactly! But again, it seems ghosts have been improved greatly, and they might just use them again for the ancestor spirit. I'll be fine with that, I think. I only hope that the ghost is useful this time around... In my opinion some of the racial powers were not that useful, especially at higher levels. At least in Oblivion.

I hate the polls that are kinda a backhand to you. They ask for your opinion and say something in them to make you not want to choose that option. So yes I AM boring. <_<

Well, its wonderfull to hear that the Dunmer "Ancestor" now "cloaks them in fire" instead of being a ghost:)

Where was this confirmed? PAX?
Sounds cool, I wonder if it does a lot of damage.

That's great, that ghost from Oblivion was just bunk.

Hmm, I wonder if that somehow ties in with their usual resistance to fire? o_O

My poll answers are

Yes
No
Mix
Yes
Somewhere between the upper two options.

My first character's backstory will be that of a disgruntled Ex-Ordinator who's been unable to find his way after the events of TES 3, 4, and The Infernal City. But perhaps his luck will finally turn around in the land of his former arch rivals?
