Dunmers in Skyrim

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:15 pm

So far we have seen the Orcs and the Khajiit so far. Needless to say, but they look awesome!

I have traditionally used Dunmers in every TES game. I love Morrowind's version of them, but I really didn't like the version in Oblivion.

I really want them to go for more of the Morrowind version!

How do you want the other races to look like or are you satisfied with how they looked like in Oblivion?

Dunmer are racist.

But yeah, I'd like most of the voice actors for Dunmer men (assuming there will be multiple voice actors for one race/gender) to sound like they did in Morrowind/Redguard. Those harsh, coarse vocals are great.

I preferred the Morrowind look. And voice. And their general abrasiveness.

I didn't like the Dunmer in Oblivion. They just looked like imperials with grey bodypainting. In Morrowind, they were just different, so I hope they are going to fix this in Skyrim.

I know, I loved the grittiness of Morrowind's version. I don't know why they took the voice out

Their skin should no longer be purple or green. Just a range from blue to grey.
They should get a new voice, which should sound tougher than the Oblivion Dunmer but not over the top like the "I smoke 40 packs a day" Morrowind Dunmer.
Tattoos should be an option again, and they should just look a bit cooler in general.

That's what I think anyway. :)

I just hope they don't use the same voice actor for all three elvish races... especially one with such an annoying voice to begin with

Dunmer voices in Morrowind were awesome

i think in morrowind they sound abit like ghouls from Fallout 3.

Personally i would like to see something fresh and new but with the same personalitys from morrowind, alot more offensive :D

Beth pretty much ruined Dunmer in OB. They made them shorter blue high elves lol. Thats the thing, the Dunmer are supposed to be the bad asse's of the elves. I hope to see my favored race return to the Morrowind way.

Voted Morrowind, even though the graphics were rough you could tell how varied and unusual the Dunmer are, Oblivion's Dunmer were mostly generic nancyboys.

Actually, about the voice. I changed my mind, the voice I mentioned before should be given to Dunmer who never lived in Morrowind, and the Dunmer who actually lived in Morrowind should be given the classic voice.

Indoril would be nice too

You mean the armour? I don't know, I suppose it is possible some refugees were Ordinators. :)

M'aiq Hates Dunmers... I think ALL Khajitts hate Dunmers.

That being said, I never played as a Dunmer because I always hated that widows peak, if they were to change that I might consider playing as a Dunmer. A kinda shallow reason but w/e.

The fancypants version in Oblivion needs to stay far far far away. Anything else will be better.

To be honest most of the races in Oblivion seemed a little...comedic. I don't know if it was the character design or the voice acting or their odd nonsensical idle banters mixed with the carefree soundtrack but I just couldn't really take the majority of NPCs seriously. Hopefully with whats occured in Morrowind prior to Skyrim the dunmer refugees will be very ornery and back to calling me a filthy n'wah.

Yeah, Oblivion felt a lot like Shrek to me. I like humor, but not when the whole game sounds like a living children's bed time book.

Yeah, I'm afraid Skyrim's serious err... style? Will make that even more obvious and turn Oblivion into a comedy.
