I honestly don't care if duping is in. Sure it was fun sometimes but I found it ultimately more fun when I didn't dupe

Cloning high selling items to sell for all the profit you need makes it boring.

Glitches are bad no matter what they're, Glitches that are intentionally put into a game are even worse. No to duplication, you won't need it and will be better off without it.

Because it's a glitch. Glitches are never intentional. That's why they call them glitches. It could be called an easter egg but seeing as how it was a means to cheat and broke the game, I don't think so. If they patched it several times over in Oblivion, that should be a pretty good sign they don't want you to use it.

My thoughts exactly. :P

...You seriously just posted that? Just use the console commands if you're that determined to cheat. Exploiting glitches like that could make you game buggy or even crash.

i think they can make something from that Glitch like a high level Spell you need to be high in mercantile and one of the Magic schools like Alteration or Illusion

*Restrains himself from calling the OP 12 kinds of idiot... barely* While I could possibly see there be research in the game (by alchemists of course) into the transmutation of gold (already been done in the Mehsrune Razor DLC) what you are suggesting (on top of game breaking) is some of the stupidest things I ever heard of.

Well I guess considering the chest in the Arch Mage's quarters could duplicate ingredients over time, I'm sure it's possible in the Elder Scrolls universe to magically clone things. If there is a spell to create replicas of items, it should only be for ordinary, low level objects like iron helmets or paint brushes. But it most certainly will not be called a glitch. :P

It should only be used as a spell if it will take twice the duplicated item's price in gold.

What's wrong with having the option to duplicate? I hate collecting alchemical ingredients, so I would like duplicating things. It is game breaking to use it for gold, but only if you choose to use it. Sometimes I don't feel like dungeon crawling for 5 hours to get money, I want it now. If I want to not work for my gold, why shouldn't I be able to?

The duplication glitch was basically a console version of console commands (ironic, no console commands on a console). It's nice to have in certain cases, such as trying to get a lot of 1 item (doesn't even have to be worth anything, I mainly use it for paint brushes and brush jars), and if you simply want to do something stupid. I personally filled an inn's room (in Leyawiin I believe, 5 Claws Lodge), with watermelons, all the way to the roof. I literally was swimming in watermelons. Then I opened the door, and created an avalanche of watermelons. I also trapped Gromm in Baenlins house by filling the bottom floor with Silver Urns. I coulda just sneaked out, but how can you pass up messing with the AI?

That's not exactly duping though. A member of the guild will go and collect more of what ever Alchemical ingredient is placed inside the chest, which is the first limitation on it (and you won't exactly make much money off of individual ingredients). THe second limitation is that you can only do that one ingredient at a time. The third is she will never ever collect Nirn Roots.

There are many duplication glitches in Oblivion. The 1 that still works is: Equip multiples of 1 scroll, such as 7 Flash Bolt. Drop an item. Close inventory. You should have 7 of the item you just dropped.
