Durnehviir - Wouldn't death be a better choice? (Spoilers)

Post » Sun Jul 06, 2014 11:58 am

Most people should had played the Dawnguard DLC by now, either as siding with the Dawnguard or becoming a Vampire Lord. But, I've always been interested in stories about dragons, and Durnehviir is quite interesting.

Given the fact you've defeated him, he's no longer in the grasp of the Ideal Masters, but fears of returning to Tamriel due to being in the Soul Carin for far too long, and knows he'll die if he leaves for an extended period of time.

But, wouldn't death be better than looking like an undead elder dragon? Seriously, when I first saw him, he looked undead. There's ooze dripping from him, flies around his head, and his face... it hardly looked like he was speaking. Yet he says he's cursed.

For as long as he's been stuck in the Soul Carin, I feel he would want to die, to finally feel free after an eternity of being controlled by the Ideal Masters.

If dragons are immortal, then why does he fear death? Pride? Or is it something else? I would love to ask him this and get his reaction.

It's his own damn fault for wanting to learn Necromancy instead of fighting for territory like other dragons. But you can't help but to feel sorry for him.

A handy tip: if you feel the need to put "(Spoilers)" in your title then your thread belongs in the Spoilers forum.

I'm sorry. I didn't know there was a section for that.
