Well, this is reasonably disappointing.
'Skyrim is approximately as big as Oblivion.' Really? That vast, nordic wasteland is only the size of Cyrodiil (and with fewer cities), which was relatively pathetic anyway?
'You can read in-game books in 3-D.' Glad to see you're focusing on the important things, Beth.
'You can use fast travel to revisit places you have visited earlier' Equally pleasant that you are somehow under the impression that everybody who plays your games is a babbling [censored]. There is no accessibility problem, systems such as Morrowind's fast travel have been used in so many recent open world games that it is actually amazing that Bethesda seems so adamant about ignoring their fanbase.
Bethesda shouldn't be relying on modders to make their games worth playing. It actually seems as though every time another piece of [censored] news comes out about this game, the community has to bring itself to a state of delusive denial in order to move on to hype the next ridiculously drawn out article from the GI hub.

Skyrim is smaller than Oblivion on the map, and if they are correct about all the Unique landscapes, it'll feel even bigger.
You can't tell me, that when you get the game and open a book, see it in 3D, you won't think 'Huh, thats pretty cool'
I'm going to enter the Fast Travel argument. I hate the Morrowind system, the only one thats acceptable is the Mages Guild system. If I want to take a boat or a Silt Strider I want to SEE the silt strider or boat moving. Morrowinds version annoyed me as well because you had to pay money to do the exact same thing that you would do in Oblivion for free. Oblivions version was perfectly fine.
Oh, yeah, guess what, You don't have to use it!!
How can you say the last point have of not actually played the game? Oblivion had hhundreds of hours playtime in Vanilla, I think the side quests were fantastic, and, despite what other people think, Cyrodiil was beautiful.
some of this sounds questionable.... if i enter a dungeon at level 1 will i get the level 1 versoin of the best sword ever..... and then have it not level up with me. thats wut happened to me in oblivon for dawnfang...strongest sword u culd get....7 damage...sum of a bi***.... and i cudlnt get on live to get that fixed cuz i aint have connection. so i hope wut it does do... is let me leave and when i come back at level 10 its harder... this is a scary situation dangit. they will make the same mistake they made in oblivion with the weapons locking in on w/e low level crap u got them on. that left me so angry knowing that at level 48 i had a level 5 dawnfang...and it wuldnt level with me. that was so dumb.
That would break immersion, I don't want to get a sword at level one, which at level 30 would be the best sword in the game, and then power level to 30 so I canpwn everyone aand thing.
Wait??? What??? So does this mean we'll have nothing but typichal common rpg creatures like trolls and deer??? AGAIN??? I really hope I'm wrong!!! I won't buy Skyrim if I'm right...
Whats wrong with them? I enjoy hunting the deer, and I do like trolls - sorta. Also, there's going to be things like Ice Wraiths, Mammoths and Dragons to keep you happy.
Maybe its because the official opinion on this forum isn't the be all and end all of TES fans? :ermm: Todd said that he looked at a VARIETY of sources to see what the fans wanted, which is far from ignoring the fanbase. He's just not going to cater to every beckon and whim of the Morrowind groupies, a few of whom will knock down ANY change, even if it objectively suits the game better.
Agreed. A lot of this people on these forums are the diehard core TES nuts, and if Beth listened to everyone of them, we'd have a ridiculously hard game, with different alien landscapes filled with a huge mainquest, and lots of trivial things that won't get new fans interested.
Think, why did you pick up a TES game, did you think 'Oh, that game looks interesting'? Most likely, but if beth listened to all the rabid fans, they wouldn't get as many fans as they did with Oblivion.
Actually, that is the heart of the Fast Travel problems. The game world was so dull that that wasn't really fun in walking from one city to another. So people cannot "not use if not want"...
Make the world interesting, and we will have an actual choice than.

I found it fun. Cyrodiil is beautiful, andI think the reason people didn't like it, is because it is quite similar to Earth and coming from Vvardenfell, it looks plain. But, I really like the area around Chorrol, just fantastically gorgeous.
I'm pleased with this information, makes me even more psyched to play.
